Lesson Six, Prophetic Counseling, of the School of Prophetic Knowledge is one the latest move of God regarding the office of the prophet. Just as it was in the days of the Old Testament prophets so is it today. You may recall the story of Saul and his father’s servant wandering about searching for the families lost donkeys. Now to us donkeys do not seem to be much of an asset; however, today it would be equal to you losing your transportation.
As Saul and his father’s servant feverously exhausted their hunt for the lost donkeys the servant began to tell Saul about Samuel, a prophet of God. Seeking God’s prophet for counseling and direction to find the lost donkeys was not a novel idea it was a way of life for God’s people.
Over the years many offices and functions have been amputated from the body of believers in God’s church. Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. I Corinthians 12:27:30 No where in the bible does it say that God has removed these offices and functions from His Church.
Today, Jesus is establishing, once again the much needed ministry of prophetic counseling back into His Church. This months DVD gets into the meat of learning more about this type of ministry. God’s people have a great need for God’s counsel through His prophets.
