Losing Faith
Have you heard about the great exodus from the local churches? A well known Christian magazine has reported that over 13 million believers no longer are affiliated with a local church. Their findings report that these Christians are not babes in Christ but well grounded mature followers of Jesus Christ. These Christians are being labeled Drop Outs, A.W.O.L. Christians, or Backsliders. There appears to be a growing trend of Christians world-wide who are joining this back-door revival.
Where is the revival? Interviews with some of these negative labeled Christians determined that they are experiencing their own personal relationship, without the need of a local body of believers. However, this does not mean that they do not have a positive relationship with various ministries and other Christians. We are now living in the Digital Age, having graduated from the Industrial Age, and this has changed the way many worship and fellowship with God. With the mass change in technology Christians can now communicate with anyone, anywhere, anytime, day or night. Searching the world-wide web one can literally be in touch with millions of ministers who specialize in specific spiritual needs. No longer does a parishioner have to be locked in with one minister. Prior to the Digital Age or otherwise known as the Age of Information, if you needed prayer or counseling you visited your local Pastor; how things have changed.
