Prophetic Children
A faithful Christian of any age can be used by God to prophesy; in fact, many children have encountered prophetic experiences with God. Children are far more sensitive to the prophetic words, because of their unquestioning belief in Him. Often times, children speak to us prophetically, but we fail to recognize that they are operating in the spirit. Frequently, they are also unaware that they are prophesying, and it is our responsibility as their spiritual guides to be sensitive to their prophetic encounters. Parents are obligated to not only show our children the pathway of faith that leads to God, but also hold open the spiritual door open for them, so that they may enter into a relationship with our Heavenly Father.
When we were children, Andrea and I both experienced hearing the voice of God, but we were never encouraged by our parents to operate in the spirit. We had very little opportunity to speak about our experiences, for fear of being perceived as crazy or receiving angry responses to something we felt was a glorious experience. Therefore, we repressed our urge to share with others our hearing the Holy Spirit’s voice. However, we would step back into the spiritual realm in ties of trouble in search of answers. It wasn't until years later when we were baptized in the Holy Spirit that we began to understand what this voice of reason was and to grasp the importance of listening to the words of His ultimate Truth.
After living in spiritual confusion throughout our own childhood, Andrea and I have made tremendous efforts to encourage our two daughters, Jenny and Savannah, to seek God and expect revelation from Him. Just as expected, our Father has spoken to our girls many times. We have witnessed the unwavering level of faith that children attain when they are taught to hear God, and because of our family’s experiences we have decided to share with our partners how God has used our children to speak prophetically.
This month’s DVD is filled with details of our childhood encounters with God. We realize that, as we have aged, the clarity of what God said to us then has been diminished by time and by the weight of spiritual burden. But, now that we are not only physical, but also spiritual adults we feel confident and secure enough in our faith in God and our relationship with our partners in Christ to share these long forgotten memories.
