Questions and Answers

We are praying that all our readers have a blessed Christmas experience while worshipping Christ Jesus our Lord.
Question and Answer sessions are one of my favorite functions as a prophetic minister. I do not claim to have all the answers, but I do know the one who does. As all kinds of questions are being asked from the congregation I wait with anticipation to hear how the Lord wants me to answer. We all learn much from these sessions, though I feel I learn the most.
Many of the questions I receive directly challenge our belief system. I am always anxious to receive the Lord’s reply. Over the years my doctrine and beliefs have changed due to the answers I have received regarding certain teachings. One question that seems to always be asked is regarding the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Ever since the “Azuzu Street Revival” it has been taught that the evidence of one receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit is that they will begin to speak in tongues. From Acts Chapter 2 the common phrase has been taught, “they were baptized in the Holy Spirit by the evidence of speaking in tongues.” The word “evidence” is not used anywhere in Acts 2; therefore, it cannot be the only sign or confirmation that one has received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. If this were to be true, then what is to be said about Acts Chapter 19 where it is written that those who received the baptism of the Holy Spirit not only spoke in tongues but also prophesied. The fact is the evidence is they received one or more spiritual gifts as listed in 1 Corinthians 12.
