Dull of Hearing
Part 3 - One Body, One Head
I cry out for the churches today because we are missing it. The body of Christ has been amputated by man, removing the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists and the teachers. All the parts of the body have been removed leaving only the navel. We are back to the beginning of nothing. But God is beginning to sew it all back together. And when we get it back together, you will not be able to stop the move of God in His people. It is important to remember that there is only one head. A body with more than one head is a freak. Christ is the head of the Church. The Holy Spirit is like the nervous system. Whenever God speaks, the Holy Spirit moves through the body to make the word happen. We cannot put together the body of Christ with our own carnal mind.
People will not believe except to see signs and wonders. Jesus said, “The works that I do, you shall do greater.” Jesus was a miracle worker. How is it possible to do greater works then Jesus? It is because he goes to the Father and intercedes for the church. He sends the Holy Spirit to our spirit the commandants, the commissions, the things we are to do. The equations, the answers to all of our troubles are right there in front of us, living within us. If you have Christ in you, who is all-knowing, who has conquered heaven and hell and lives within you, then you have all the answers to all of your troubles. There is no problem except we are looking at things like the Pharisees, the ones Jesus condemned. They were the snakes, the vipers, the hypocrites. It is so easy to fall into that trap. The spirit within us groans because it knows of what we should be doing and are not doing.
"You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. John 5:39-40
What kind of life is Jesus talking about? He is talking about the abundant life. He says you search the scriptures for in them you think there is eternal life. Pharisees knew scripture. In fact, in order to be a priest you needed to memorize the first five books of scripture by heart. They wore on their forehead a box filled with scripture. The size of the box indicated how much scripture that person memorized yet they did not know Christ. Have you ever know anyone who could quote scripture after scripture after scripture but they were blind as a bat when it came to seeking the hand of God. Jesus is saying that you can not find him in the book but scripture testify about him so that you will know him when he speaks to you. Scripture is a “tuning fork”. It reveals the personality and character of Christ. You need to feed upon the “bread of life”. You need to stay in the scriptures for the reason that Christ can lead, guide and direct you from faith to faith.
It took a long time for the church to believe that scripture is the inherent word of God from Genesis to Revelation that everything that is recorded happened or will happen. Christ is taking us to another level of faith that we will have faith to “hear” him. You can read about Christ but now he wants you to know him. There is a lot more to the church then having the knowledge of the scriptures. Far more. We have become a people who have been educated in the system of schools to look at scripture as if it were a text book. We feel that if we can memorize the book then we would be powerful. It is not so. Pharisees and Sadducees were evident of that. In order to receive the power of Christ, you must be willing to obey his every word, his every command.
What God does for you will be different than what He does for me. What He speaks to you will be different than what He speaks to me. The way He uses you will be different than the way He uses me because He did not create us as clones. Each one of us has an unique and special gifting spirit within us and we need to be able to identify what we have be created to do.
For many years of my life I was unholy but by the grace of God, He showed me what I needed. He gave me direction of what I should do. I was so ignorant of the scriptures that when God called me into the ministry, I did not know the first four books of the New Testament. I was ignorant of scripture but I knew I needed to find Christ so I began to study about the things of God. I began to recognize that He was working in me before I read it in the scriptures. I was doing things in my life by the Spirit before I read it was part of the scriptures. I was hearing his voice before I knew that Jesus said, “My sheep know my voice”. It is not in your intelligence. It is not how much you know but WHO you know and WHO you are willing to follow.
People today are looking for a man to follow. Many people will ask, “Who is your mentor? Who is your spiritual father?” My mentor is the Holy Spirit. My father is Father God. Still they ask, “Who is your teacher.“ Scriptures says call no man on earth your teacher or your father for there is only one and He is in heaven. The body of Christ cannot unify and work in one body and one head until we start hearing the same Spirit and being lead by the same head, Jesus Christ.
