Faith To Faith

Part 1 - Receiving Faith

Many have heard of the word of faith and understand the definition of faith. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for without the evidence of things yet seen.” But how do you get faith? Once you receive faith, what do you do with it? And what is expected of you to do with it? Many are looking for faith and trying to act out their faith but it comes out all “plastic”. Many times it comes out bogus. Sometimes it comes out something other than God.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

The “word” in the verse is not “logos” but “rhema”. It is not the written word of God but the spoken word of God. It has taken the faith movement many years to convince the people of God that the written word of God is the inherent true word of God from Genesis to Revelation. Before the faith movement started birthing and showing up on the scene with very powerful preachers, there were those in the seminaries saying that the first eleven chapters of Genesis were myths. But Jesus quoted from those eleven chapters in Genesis. If they were myths, then some of the things Jesus quoted would have been mythical. But that is not true. It is all the word of God, every word, every dot is the word of God. Now, God is taking us into another level, from faith to faith.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." Romans 1:16, 17

At some point, the word has to manifest for it to have anything. But how does it manifest? “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” We have to find out from heaven how it will be manifested on earth. Many people are struggling to finding out how to get their finances in order, how to live the abundant life. They ask, “Lord, what do I need to do?” Well, you must pray, hear and obey. There are people who say they pray but they are whining, snibbling and crying like a child to God. “Oh Lord, don’t you know I have a need? Oh Lord, can’t you see? Oh Lord, what are you going to do about it?” We have misunderstood prayers. In prayer, we need to go to the Lord and say, “Lord you know my needs before I ask. Therefore, I come to ask how do I receive it?” We must come in prayer expecting to hear Him then we will have the answers to all of our needs. Every time Jesus was asked a question, He gave revelations on how to obtain their needs. Nothings has changed. It is still the same today. The Bible is not a genie’s bottle that we rub three times and chant a scripture and hoping it happens. It doesn’t work that way. But if God gives you a word, don’t forget it. For example, a word from scripture may leap from the page and come right into your spirit then you will know that God just spoke to you. David said he wrote the word of the Lord on his forehead. The Pharisees totally misunderstood David. They put boxes of written scriptures on their head to indicate how much scripture they memorized and to show others how much they knew. Pharisees might have quoted scripture but they did not recognize their Lord, Jesus Christ when he stood in front of them. What good does it do to memorize scripture if you do not have it in your heart? You must know Jesus. He wants a relationship with you. He wants your problems but you must learn to give him your problems and trust that you will receive the revelation to the problem. When faith comes, what happens?

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Grace is unmerited favor. We did not earn our salvation. We didn’t do anything to gain it. He gave it to us freely. If you go to someone who is saved, born of God, when they die they go to heaven, you can’t take that from them. They haven’t seen heaven, haven’t been to heavn but they know they are going to heaven because of their faith. We did not earn our salvation. We dol not earn our revelation. Many people who are saved think they know something. But we need to come to Christ as babes, knowing nothing, totally leaning upon him and his wisdom in order to obtain our needs.
