Sanctified Through Obedience
Part 6 - The Ways of God
How about a nation of people who have prospered only to find the rug jerked out from under them? In Wall Street, you can find many people faced with devastation and humility, lower in their standings. Most of us do not have to worry about Wall Street, thank the Lord, but a lot of people out there had made Wall Street their god. And now they are paying a dear price for it. It was easy for them to give out of their abundance but now they are being asking to give and they have very little. It is a real test on our nation. We are just on the very edge of what we are about to enter. We hadn’t even really felt the full tidal wave that is headed our way. We’ve only felt the ripples of the water of the economy that is about to take a total collapse! The people who will come out financially successful in this are the very people who want to start the war. We’re not going to prosper from this. So, what do we do? All authority is given of God and no authority exist that is not of God. So, what do we do? Those people are accountable to God, not us. So, if they call us up, what do we do? We got to go fight the battle but our blood will be on their hands. You see, it doesn’t really matter anyway because we know where we will go after this life. At least, I pray we do.
If there’s been something God has been bugging you to do, or a better term is “calling” you to do, don’t reject him. Don’t neglect him because you will be giving up much more than what he is asking for. And on top of all that, I have never, ever, suffered because I did what God told me to do. This is where the carnal mind is all mixed up. This is when the devil gets in to it and tells you God wants this and God want that and this will lead you to nothing. I have never given what God has told me to give and lost. I have always gained because I try to go in with a heart, the desire to give it because he asked me, not because I was going to get something in return. But most people give because they regard it as an investment. It is not an investment. It is a requirement. We should not be giving because we want to get something back. A lot of people look at it as a lottery. Put something in the pot and hope something will come back. You need to look at this. If I get more back that means I’ve got to give more because you can not cheat God. If your heart is right, it won’t matter anyway. The whole point of Him asking you to give is because He can trust you with more. He knows that if you are faithful with the little things, there are greater things He will trust you with. That’s how it is with the things of God, with all things of God.
If God said to take your child and lay him on the altar, who in this day and time would believe Him in His word? Would God need to do that? No. Because He already gave the only sacrifice that will ever be accepted and that is His own son. Jesus Christ is the sacrifice and the only sacrifice that will ever be accepted. All He ask is that we be obedient of such small things, such small requirements God makes of us. They are his requirements. Don’t think that the gospel is free. It will cost you your life, just like it cost his.
