Wealth of the Wicked: Tithes for the Storehouse
Excerpt from Sunday Chat Line 05/05/02
Proverbs say wisdom is the principle thing, therefore get wisdom. But it also says in all your getting, get understanding. It is not enough just to get wisdom; you got to know what you are supposed to do with it once you have it. The Lord’s favorite game is Hide and Seek. Once you were lost, He came and found you and now He says come find me. Most of us give up there but it is a real journey to find God and find out what He is doing today, what He wants today. Most of us believe that or have believed that everything is written in the Bible and there is nothing more to be said but that is not true. That would be serving a dead God not a living God. Our God is still alive and He is still speaking. And what God is doing in the church today is different than what He did in the Old Testament or even in the early church.
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10
Most of you do not bring your turtle doves or your oxen or your lamb to be sacrificed so we know that God has made other provisions for us to provide for ourselves. There is a new concept of the storehouse for the Lord said bring your tithes to the storehouse and prove me to see if I will not open the windows of Heaven and pour out a blessing on you such you will not be able to contain. We have heard that many times as men preach very heartily to induce you to give to the church for the “spendhouse” not the storehouse. Because that is what the church has become, they spend the tithes rather than store the tithes. That is why God said bring it in to the storehouse and prove me that there will not be enough there for who? For the preacher or the people? It has always been for the people. Think about it. If everybody brought an ox today to be sacrificed, how much of those oxen do you think the priest would eat? In another week, people will be bringing another one. They were not gluttons. A lot of the live stock they took, they kept and let it reproduce. The grain they took in, they did not eat it all, they sowed a lot of that grain back into the ground to replant. They multiplied the tithes. They did not consume the tithes like we do today. When the tithes is brought into the church, immediately majority of the funds will be spent, sent right back out into the world. What we are doing is we are eating our seed. A wise farmer does not eat his seeds or he has nothing to replant for the next year. And that is what we have been doing, church, for years; this eating the seed that is supposed to be in the storehouse. For what? For us!
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. Proverbs 13: 22
Now if the wealth of the wicked is laid out for the righteous, how do we get that wealth? The concept of the tithes is this: The church store the tithes and sow the tithes by investing it and only use the interest, the returns, the increase of tithes and not consume the seed, not the initial tithes. Never spend the tithes. Think about this: if the tithes were brought into the storehouses all across United States and across the world, how long do you think before the church owned all the money of the world. It would not take very long for this to take place. Who would be the ruler? Whoever holds the purse strings rules. The church obviously does not own the purse string. Who is the head? Who is the tail today? The church is in the back end of everything and they are going further behind as time goes on because the church have taken the money, spend the money for their personal visions and the people have nothing! People are left devastated and when they are in need, can they come into the storehouse and receive from in the same place they have been sowing? No! There is nothing there. Not a dime. In fact they are not even interested in you unless you were putting in to the “spendhouse” We need to look at the church as what God said it was: it is the storehouse. Prove me and see if there is not enough there for everyone not just for the Levites. He said the Levites only took a tenth of the tithes. That is 1/10 of ten percent. They did not use it all themselves. They did not have the capabilities that we have today to invest. What would we invest in today? I am not interested in you bringing in your grain and cattle. We can not do a whole bunch with that; it is not practical. The applications we use today are monetary. It is money. The market place is the field in which we will sow into. For what purpose? That it will multiply and multiply and multiply again.
Proverbs is referred to as a book of wisdom. What the church needs more than anything today is wisdom because we have not been very wise in what we have been doing for many, many years.
Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine. Proverbs 3:9, 10
Whose barn will be full? Whose vats will flow? The Levites? The pastor? The preacher? No, yours! Yours will overflow. Why? We try to spiritualize over the years to say that if you just give unto the Lord, He will be faithful to see that you will always have enough. But it doesn’t always work this way. Why? Because the church has not been using the principle that God has given us. We have been gobbling up everything that is out there, fleecing the flock. Are we supposed to get the wealth of the wicked? Do we ask them to come in and give to the church? No! We are fleecing the flock! We are taking it all from the flock. We are taking it all from the flock. We are not taking it from the wicked. We are taking it from the saints. We are robbing the righteous.
