How Important is Prophecy

The majority of Christians worship the Bible but despise prophecy. The fact is, a large portion of the Holy Scriptures were first His spoken word before becoming a part of the written Words from God. God chose to use average men and women as vessels to speak through in order for His Word to become a major part of the living Bible.

And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:19-21

What Our Nation Needs

It is impossible either to produce or sustain a republican form of government of limited powers apart from the theology of the Bible. A Biblical view of man, and this alone was the essence of America's greatness in the past, this alone is the hope for America's greatness in the future. -Tom Rose

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Liberty in 2010

When people make bad choices they suffer because of them. However, when a nation of people make bad choices generations of people suffer. If you take away a persons freedom you destroy there dreams and without their dreams they just lay down and die.

For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. For if, after they have escaped the pollution's of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 2 Peter 2:18-20

Pray, Hear and Obey

"Don't doubt in darkness what you have committed to in the light." That is to say, if you are in the presence of God and He asks you to do something and you agree, then you are committed. It is easy to commit to God while in the presence of His anointing and His people. However, the real test comes when you have to go back into the world; doubt and darkness start creeping into your thoughts. Human reasoning will always challenge God's word. Therefore, you must hold firmly to your commitment not forgetting your agreement with Him. For it would have been better not to have known His will than to have known and turn away.

For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dog returns to his own vomit," and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire." 2 Peter 2:21, 22

Where are Your Watchmen?

Where are your Watchmen, those who know of things to come? Are they deaf to My voice? Are they so busy they cannot find time to sit at My feet and learn of what will be? How important it is to have those in your midst who hear My voice? In the days and months ahead, those who stand close to My prophets will know when the enemy is about to attack. Those who choose to lean upon their own ability or the warnings of their governments will surely suffer.

(Jesus said,)"I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. John 16:12-14

Seeking God for Abundant Life

We must pray, hear and obey. The Bible shows us that obedience always pays. God has never chastened, beat or condemn anyone for obeying Him. When you obey God, the blessings will come to overtake you. You will not be able to out run His blessings or hide from them. They will seek you out and find you. Then why do we spend so much time crying out for His blessings? There is something major missing in the "formula" of Christianity. There is something missing on how to get your prayers answered. The answer cannot be found in man's biblical "formula." It is in your personal relationship with Him that you will find all your blessings and answers to all your problems.

(Jesus said:)You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. John 5:39

What is Truth?

The bible says that the Holy Spirit is truth. If you will allow the Holy Spirit to teach you and to interpret what is written and spoken, you will have the truth and you will be free. It is not some big mystical secret. It is something that is given to us as a gift. We may have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, but if we turn to our own reasoning, we will be in trouble. You still have to follow the Holy Spirit after you received Him. When you were baptized by the Holy Spirit, you did not suddenly become perfect; it is a continual walk. You must die to yourself daily. You die to your will and your thoughts and let God's thoughts and His will be done in your life. Many times life does not work out the way you would like it to. But always, once you have gone through it, you will look back and say, "I am glad I went through that. If I hadn't gone through that I wouldn't know what I know today. I wouldn't be who I am today. And I wouldn't be able to be doing what I am today."

"This is He who came by water and blood-- Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth." I John 5:6

Staying in Step With God

Do not miss out on God's promise, first you must not talk about what God has revealed to you until it has totally manifested. Second, do not force it to happen. And third, test the timing to see if God is ready to make it happen. It is important for us to take baby steps not great leaps of faith. Most people think that if God speaks it then they need to go out and show their faith by doing something but this is not how it works. Instead you will cause problems for yourself. It is very important to take baby steps. Take a small step and see if there is anything out there that will make the revelation fall into place. When God told Gideon go out and fight for victory was his, Gideon did not take a great leap in faith and attacked the enemy immediately. Instead, Gideon laid out a fleece to get confirmation. In fact, Gideon laid out the fleece twice until he was sure of God's timing. When Gideon finally attacked his enemy and he had victory. You too must lay out your "fleece" and see if God is ready to move yet.

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret-it only causes harm. Psalm 37:7,8

Prophecy vs. Divination

The prophetic spirit, or prophetic angel, has great power over the spirit, or demon divination. I have experienced this power when I have been confronted by those who possess psychic powers. There is not a great battle fought during these confrontations. The word of the Lord simply overrides their power, and by His authority a prophetic Christian can cast out these demonic powers, keeping them from ever using them again.

I remember when we began receiving prophecy requests from the prophecy tape ad in the tabloids. Three of the one hundred and ten people who requested a prophecy tape from the ad became Christians. One of these people confessed to practicing 'Wicca' but now is active in the church and teaches a Sunday school class. Another was a practicing psychic who received the Spirit of Christ and quit her job with the Psychic Hot Line. Later, she came to work for the ministry to transcribe some eighty teaching tapes of mine that became a part of the manual we use in the School of the Prophets. The third was an agnostic but is now a Spirit-filled Christian and continues to support this ministry 17 years after the fact.

Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, "These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation." And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And he came out that very hour. Acts 16:16-18

Body, Soul and Spirit

The Kingdom of God is a city, a fortress, a nation filled with people who have many different kinds of ministerial gifts. There are also different levels of authority and responsibilities. The one with the least in the Kingdom of God is greater and has more than the wealthiest on earth. Your soul is your mind, personal will and emotions, which must line up. Jesus said there is no sting in death. He will just take us straight to His Kingdom. Remember you are of the Spirit not the body; the body profits you nothing. It is your spirit that gives you life and without it your body cannot exist.

Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesy. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-23

Prophets Who Stand Alone

I have learned more about our God doing prophesies for others than all the combined teachings of man. I have changed my doctrine many times over after learning the truth. At times, this has caused friction between my brothers and sisters in the Lord and me. However, I would rather have the truth and stand alone than follow the masses into the passive gray areas of denial and complacency.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 2 Timothy 4:3-5

Letting Go to Receive God's Best

Many say that salvation is free. I beg to differ with this theology. Do you remember when you gave your life to Jesus did not a lot of your friends turn from you?. You probably know of someone who has been excommunicated from their own family because of their decision to follow Christ. Jesus rewards those who obey His call to leave everything and follow Him.

Then Peter said, "See, we have left all and followed You." So He (Jesus) said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life." Luke 18:28-30

The Absence of God Invites the Presence of Evil

I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how he would look up into the heavens and say there is no God. -Abraham Lincoln

"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:11,12

FAITH with WORKS

Do you remember the story about Rahab, the harlot? A harlot is one who is a prostitute. The men of God who were spies within the very camp of the enemy came knocking on her door looking for a place to hide because they were about to be discovered. If they were discovered they would have been executed. She let them in, knowing that these men were followers of God. Rahab was not a follower yet she had an understanding, a knowing, that God wanted her to protect these men. Her lifestyle was hideous. Her lifestyle was ungodly. But God gave her one opportunity to show her faith by her works. And what did she do? She hid the men on the top of her roof. When the soldiers came looking for the two Israeli spies, she lied. She lied and told them the men were not there. Hadn't seen them. Must have gone that way. And God says this woman's faith saved her through her works. She lied! This can turn you upside down when you think about it. You mean, God sanctified this woman because she did what she was supposed to? Her name is in the bible three times. She is referred to three different times in the New Testament as being a woman of faith! "Faith comes by hearing. And hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17)

You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:24-26

Angels on Our Side

There are many teaching regarding demons. People need to be informed of the fact that the devil is not dead. When Satan fell, only one third of the Angels followed him. Two thirds of the Angels in heaven remain and are on our side. The Demons are outnumbered 2 to 1. We must be willing to allow God's Angels to be appointed unto us and minister through us. When you first received the power of God, there was something in your life that God wanted to do through you. You need to examine what you've experienced in God. Don't be confused by too much television, movies and music to the point where you become deaf to the things of God. Even business can rob you of some great pleasures and blessings. It is not the ultimate goal for us to see how much money we can put in the bank. The ultimate goal is to see what we can do for our Lord and Savior. Whom you serve in this life will determine where you spend eternity.

But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool"? Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:13,14

My Words Abide in You

"My words abide in you." Many people, because of their perceived limitations, believe that the only way to hear God and to have a relationship with Him is through the written word. Today, we can become frustrated when we need answers on issues that are not found in chapter and verse. We need a direct word for circumstances and situations that are for today. To find direction from God, we must find His word. When He speaks to us and we receive His word in faith; then we have something real, something we can apply to our current situation. If He calls you to do a certain thing, scripture says, "you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." In other words, God will give you everything you need to accomplish your mission.

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." John 15:7

What Were You Created to Do?

What God does for you will be different than what He does for me. What He speaks to you will be different than what He speaks to me. The way He uses you will be different than the way He uses me, because He did not create us as clones. Each one of us has an unique and special spiritual gift within us, and we need to be able to identify what we have been created to do.

For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Romans 12:4-8

Prayer for Success

If you do anything long enough you will become successful, as long as you continue to follow your dreams without vacillating. So many of us start out with a dream and it becomes a part of our daily prayers. As time goes by, we seem to begin making alterations in our prayer request. We either want more than what we started asking for or we find something better. This is not good; when we make changes in our request we lose any chance of it coming to pass. Also, do not speak to anyone about your dreams or what you are praying for until it all has come to pass. Christ Jesus our Lord says to pray in a secret place; why, because no one should know about your request. Tell no one of your dreams, for if you do your prayers will not be fulfilled.

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Matthew 6:6

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:24

Spiritual Law for Blessings and Curses

Something material in exchange for something spiritual is a spiritual law that carries blessings and/or curses. In this law, we find that it is not how much you give, but to whom you give it that is important. You can give a psychic a twenty-dollar bill for a reading and receive a curse. On the other hand, you can give to God's prophets and be blessed. Let us not stop there. We must also understand that this spiritual law is only in effect if the one ministering accepts your monetary gift. Apostle Paul goes into great length explaining to the saints in Corinth about this spiritual law. In the end of his message, he robs them of their blessing by not accepting their offering.

Do I say these things as a mere man? Or does not the law say the same also? For it is written in the law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain." Is it oxen God is concerned about? Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope. If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things? If others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more? 1 Corinthians 9:8-12
