Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;”
Romans 12:3-6

God can choose whomever He so desires to operate in whatever gifts He so wills. We cannot earn the right to receive a spiritual gift by our good works. For this reason alone proves we are not all equal. However, for those who operate in one or more of God’s spiritual gifts does not make you better than the rest. In fact it makes you much more accountable before God and your judgment is more severe if you miss use the gift. (Ref. James 1:3)

From the time the prophetic gifts where imparted unto me by the laying of hands and prophesy I began to learn many things especially about the gift of prophecy. (Ref. 1 Timothy 4:14) The first service I held in an official Church building I recall learning a valuable lesson that led me to the Scriptures in Romans 12:3-6.

The service was quite long and I had worked all night at my secular job the night before; needless to say I was very tired. My parents had invited me after the service to eat with them at their home and afterward I laid down to take a nap. As soon as I had laid down, the anointing lifted and here came the devil. He began to rail on me trying to convince me that the words I gave were wrong and I needed to call each one up and tell them so.

This went on for a few minutes and then it came to me; we prophesy in portion to our faith. Well, this was revelation for me; IT IS MY FAITH that keeps the prophecy alive not the person who received it. So I began to war over the words given to each one of the people whom I had prophesied over. By God’s grace, I had received this valuable revelation that has given me the ability to see manifestation of many people’s prophesies over the years. And I will fight just as hard for your word from God to come to pass too.

You took me back to my early days in the beginning of the 90’s, and how things were so exciting. This is when I first met you. I remember stepping out in faith and joining Video Church and going through the School of Prophetic Knowledge and internet pastors and graduating from the school of ministry & missions at Living Word Christian Center here in Chicago. I continue to hold on to the many words you have spoken concerning God’s plans towards me. I know all of the training and teachings and getting involved with God’s Work have not been in vain. Kent you continue to be an inspiration to me in the hard and dark seasons. Thanks for always being a Light & Keeping it REAL.

Finding Your Place with God

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.to give them light, so as to go by day and night.

Everyone should have that one place they can go and talk to God. I have visited with many people and over the years I have heard of some pretty strange places where they have experienced God speaking to them. Your portal or pillar of fire where God sends down His word to you can be anywhere at any time, as He so desires. He is not required to be where you want Him. However, finding that place where you can meet Him at a certain time each day will greatly increase your chances of connectivity.

Allow me to clarify this constant misnomer. When I say “Hearing God” I do not necessarily mean hearing His audible voice. He may come to you with a vision, unction, thought, impression or any other way He so chooses to communicate to you.

About twenty years ago there was a book and teaching titled, “Can You Not Tarry for One Hour?” by Dr. Larry Lee. These teachings helped thousands of people learn how to pray and groomed them to become intercessors for God, which is the first step to learning how to hear His voice. The book and study material are based on the Lord’s Prayer found in Luke 11:1-4. I had the wonderful experience of being a part of this ministry with Dr. Larry Lee, which really helped me gain a foothold into my journey and find my place with God.

Most everyone who has spent time with me has heard me saying at one time or another, “Guess what God said while I was in the bathroom.” Yes, it is embarrassing, and the first time He spoke to me while in the powder room I felt like Adam, naked in the garden. For a split second I tried to hide myself; nowadays these encounters are as normal as breathing. This doesn’t happen every time I visit the men’s room, but He has spoken to me there on more than one occasion. There are those times I need to spend a few hours with Him and discuss lengthy and complicated problems. The little boy’s room is really not the place to spend that much time seeking God. For the longer dissertations I crank up the old Zero Radius Lawn mower. We live on a 2 acre lot, and it can take a couple of hours of mowing to get it all done. While riding with the roar of the engine behind me, I mindlessly go around in a square circle; there I can get lost in His Pillar of Fire. Many times I have retreated to the mowing process to get answers on how to deal with all sorts of situations. It always amazes me how much I enjoy those times with Him. I am not proposing, however, that if someone comes to you wanting to find God that you should tell them to go mow their lawn rather than telling them to go to Church.

Hopefully, you have already found your place where you hear God, but you may need some confirmation. Is it Him? Do you have the proper understanding? You know it is not enough to hear Him you must know what He means. In part, this is one of the duties with which I am commissioned to help you. If you have not found your place where you go to hear Him, then I can help you discover where He has been waiting to communicate with you. The fact is He has always been there wherever your “there” is; waiting for you to stop and talk awhile. Consider becoming a Family Partner and let’s start the journey. Hey FB friends, forget psychic hotline, Rev. Kent Simpson is the real thing!!

If anyone is looking for guidance, he really hears from God so accurately you’ll be shocked—and so blessed. Check out this story he wrote about how it all started. I’ve been talking to Kent since the early 90’s, answering an ad in a magazine when I needed guidance. Sounds unusual but it was real. And just like God, Kent is not a respecter of persons, I’ve directed non believers and people of other faiths to him and Kent is able to hear for everyone. It truly is amazing. We all have times when we’re confused and need guidance, direction for work, relationships, even missing pets !!! God cares !!!!

(Stories Time Line 1989- Present)

In the very beginning of this ministry in 1989, God made a promise to me that everywhere a prophecy was sent I would reap a harvest and that I would be prophesying to hundreds of people. When our Lord made this promise to me I really did not know what He was referring to, but one day, in May of 1994, I found myself boarding an airplane headed for Norway. It was at that point the Holy Spirit brought back to my remembrance what our Lord had promised. Looking back, I traced within my mind how I found myself headed for Norway. Months prior I had received a letter of invitation to come to Norway. The folks who had sent the letter were a group of men who had found the ad in Charisma magazine and received their prophesies.

In our letters of correspondence, I learned that they estimated over 500 Norwegian people had received prophesies after having seen the ad. Once all the arrangements were made, the men in Norway raised the funds to purchase tickets for Wes Arnold, my brother in law, and me to travel to Norway. The arrangements were for us to hold three services each day for nine days in Oslo in a church building that had been closed for over two years. Prior to these Oslo meetings, we were to hold a few services in a church in the far Northern part of Norway in a town named Al. When we landed in Oslo, there were a few people waiting to take us on a five and a half hour drive to the Saturday night service in Al. However, our flight was delayed by a few hours. This created quite a rush to get us to the Church in Al as quickly as possible; we sped through the mountain roads in a car packed with five people and lots of luggage.

When we arrived the Pastor rushed us up to the stage. You must understand, we had been traveling with layovers on three planes and an automobile, totaling more than 23 hours without sleep. Without even washing our face and hands, Wes began the praise service and I brought the message and prophesied to everyone in the house. It was about two o’clock in the morning before we closed out the service.

The very next morning we were back at the Church and we had communion service; more people showed up and received their word of prophecy. During communion a man and woman entered carrying a young woman and laid her at the back of the Church on sofa cushions. At the end of the service, the couple came to me with an interpreter and asked that I pray for their daughter. They said that about a year ago, as she was taking communion, she fell to the ground totally paralyzed and had not moved since. My energy was nearly drained from traveling and ministering; however, I kneeled down to pray for the girl.

The next day, to our surprise, she came walking in with her parents. Wes and I took a quick glance at each other as to say, “Do you see what I see?” We knew we were in for a wonderful, Spirit filled service; miraculous healings were abundant, and the prophetic words were spot on. The next day we traveled back to Oslo to start the nine days of meetings. The first meeting was at nine o’clock in the morning, and there were only about forty people. The afternoon meeting was challenging, to say the least; one of the men stood up while I was teaching and wanted to argue with me about my message. After a few attempts to try and reason with the man, I finally realized this wasn’t going to stop, so I put the microphone down, and Wes and I left the meeting, went back to our room and began to pack to go home. The men who sent for us came to the room and begged us to stay; we told them we did not come to argue. After much discussion we agreed to go back and minister God’s Word.

With an immense foreboding feeling upon us, we returned to hold the evening meeting. We walked into a room with four hundred and twenty six people (486) anxiously waiting for us to minister to them. Our shock could not be concealed. From that point on, the meetings continued to grow until one of the Christian television stations came to televise the meetings. After a few days the owner and host of the TV station asked me to come on his program and prophesy live over those who called in for His Word. Hundreds of people hungered for more of the prophetic movement, and they continued to send for us; we made fourteen more trips over the next two years. Many people were healed and His Word continued to bring in a harvest…….(to be continue)
