In the very beginning of this ministry in 1989, God made a promise to me that everywhere a prophecy was sent I would reap a harvest and that I would be prophesying to hundreds of people. Going on 25 years of ministry, His promise has taken me more places and I have seen more miracles than I can remember. I am presently working on a book to chronicle as many of these wonderful events that have taught me so much about how to move into the power of the Holy Spirit.

“Then Jesus said to him, ‘Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe'” (John 4:48).

Back in 1991, we had a live radio broadcast called Prophetic Ministries Today; within about six months we began to start gaining listeners. Wes Arnold would pray for me as I prophesied live to callers over the airwaves. Andrea was busy answering phone calls from those who wanted to receive their personal prophecy. During one Saturday morning program, God told me to tell the people that we were busting out of this place, taking His grace.

Calls from all over began to flood the radio station, people asking us to come to their city. Soon after, we began to hold meetings in our home to train a group of people who had recently discovered they had the gift of prophecy. Before long, we were scheduling meetings, setting up locations, dates and times. We were ready to make our first weekend road trip. To ensure that we had God’s favor a couple of us drove Mike, a man with a powerful gift of intercession, to Jacksboro a few days before the meeting so that he could beseech our Father to send his angels and prepare the city for our first prophetic meeting.

The day had finally come for us to take our ministry on the road. As we all gathered to leave, we made a circle, held hands, and began to pray for Jesus’ anointing. There were about fourteen people ministering, including a blind woman with whom I was not familiar. Regardless, she came along to pray for us as we all prophesied. His anointing fell upon us as we began to pray in the Spirit. Some who were praying went out under the power, while others went to their knees. It was a powerful beginning to what would be an astounding outpouring of the Spirit.

As we prayed, the Holy Spirit told me to spit in the blind woman’s eyes and He would heal them. I thought about it and wondered how I was going to do this. I met the lady just a few minutes before. I took too long to make up my mind, and the opportunity passed. When the meeting ended, I took the woman by the arm, as she tapped her red and white striped cane. We carefully walked down the steps toward the cars.

When I knew that she had mastered the rhythm of the steps, I told her what the Holy Spirit told me during the prayer. She stopped and shouted, “He told you that and you didn’t spit in my face? What is wrong with you?” She started swinging her cane at me; she even hit me a few times. I apologized, and she made it very clear that next time I should not wait, but do exactly what HE says, no matter what it is.

We traveled to Jacksboro, Texas and after picking up Mike at the road side motor inn, we rolled up to a nearby bank where we were holding the meeting. Our contacts in Jacksboro had graciously made all the arrangements for us. They met us at the door and introduced us to all who showed up. A local Texas Christian artist and acquaintance of ours, Johnny Dane, led praise and worship for the congregation as the service began.

I brought the message after Johnny so wonderfully ushered in the Holy Spirit. Then our ministry team lined up in front of the congregation as the ushers took a couple of baskets full of blank audio cassette tapes and handed them out to everyone. The people began to form a line in front of me; each one would hand me their blank tape, and I would load it into my recorder and begin telling them whatever the Lord was saying.

Three hours went by; almost half the people had gone, and we had started packing up. It was one o’clock in the morning when suddenly the bank doors opened and about forty people were dragged in by a few of the younger people who had earlier received their prophecies. I saw the young folks leave, but I had no idea they were coming back, much less with so many people in tow. Later, we found out they drove all over town finding friends and family, telling them about the meeting. We got back in a line, handed out the rest of the tapes, and began prophesying to each and every one; we even had to double up on a few of the tapes, as we had run out.

Even though it was late, we made sure that everyone who showed up received a word. Exhausted, we packed up and started the trip back home. As we drove back through the hills of Northwest Texas, a huge lightning storm entertained us. We were all in complete awe of the power of the Lord, and we celebrated His awesome introduction of His Word for the people in Jacksboro.

 

The next day the prophetic team came to the house to discuss all God had done and what we had learned. During most of the meeting we worshipped Him and began praising Him with thanksgiving in our hearts. After many tears of joy were shed, we sat down and made plans for our next road trip to Southeast Texas, to a town called Nacogdoches, reported to be the oldest town in Texas, founded by the Spaniards in 1716.

It was later in that same year that our ministry took a group of people in our 15-passenger van to Nacogdoches, Texas to minister in the towns Senior Citizens Hall. After praise and worship was over I brought the usual 45 minute message; then the fun part began. We passed around the congregation a large basket that was full of blank audio cassette tapes for each person to take one. Those of us who came to minister formed a line across the stage with each one of us holding a tape recorder. As the people came up with their tape in hand they would stand before each one of the ministers, handing over their tape to receive a word. Everyone who came received at least 4 or more prophesies. However, I noticed there were three men on the front row who obviously did not want to be there and had refused to take a tape. With their arms crossed, they sneered at us as we ministered, obviously not in agreement with what we were doing.

The last person in line was a little old woman who had waited until the end of the service to come up for a word. As I ministered to her the Holy Spirit said, “Ask her about James, James Kay and tell her he is with Me.” So I asked the little woman, “Who is James?” She said gruffly, “He’s my husband!” Again I asked, looking for confirmation, “Who is James Kay?” Staring at me like I should know she replied,

“Well, he is my husband!” Now I had all the information I needed to know I was hearing God clearly. Boldly I said, “God wants you to know James Kay is with Him!” The woman broke out in tears. Obviously James was not a very strong Christian, but she finally knew her husband would be waiting for her in heaven. Even the three angry men sitting on the front row knew James Kay and also believed there was no way I could have known James Kay except by hearing God. By the gift of the Holy Spirit, through the Word of Knowledge, I was given the words needed to bless the little old woman and make believers out of three rough-looking oil field workers.

After the services a group of women served sandwiches, chips and drinks. When I sat down to eat the three men rushed over and sat down right across from me and wanted to know everything about the Holy Spirit. That night was my first Prophetic Evangelistic experience as recorded in First Corinthians 14:24,25: “But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.”

This was just the beginning of what continues to this day to be a life full of extreme expectations of God’s prophetic promise. We are still training and releasing people into the prophetic ministries. However, with today’s technology advances we no longer require our students to move to our area. We can do all the training using DVD’s, streaming video, email, and smart phones. We also help our graduates’ setup their social media outreach programs to help build their ministry. Answer: Yes, we do have to continue work to sharpen the gift.

As for any spiritual gift perfecting it is expected. It’s like a muscle you must exercise it to keep it strong and powerful. See what Paul wrote Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:14 “Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.” and to the Ephesians 4:11-13 “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;”

Kent – I want to thank you for the prophetic word you sent me. I received it yesterday (Sunday, December 8). In the word you speak a lot about angels. You said the following: “As the Lord has appointed unto you these various angels that have different functions and are called to do different things as ministering spirits. They are sent forth to minister to you according to Hebrews 1:14.”

Bobby Conner visited our church this past weekend. Sunday (December 8) in church he talked about angels. After church one of the church members said to me: Cindy, I want to buy you Bobby’s book on Angels. I was so excited and of course accepted. I stood in line for Bobby to sign the book. He wrote the following: “God’s helpers are here – Heb 1:7, 14.”

The SAME scripture reference you used. Thank you Lord for your helpers and your word that you speak through the prophets.

Here is something else that’s been happening over the last 6 to 8 months. My family and I are finding feathers everywhere. When we find one outside we pick it up. A couple of months ago the girls found one in their room – later on I found one in my room. We have nothing in our rooms that would cause a feather to be there. Thank You Lord! We believe they are signs that angels are around us. The entire family has fun picking these up where ever we find them and thanking the Lord for his angels.

Anyway, what you have released today, I ask the Lord that it be heard and received and responded to. Because you have released a sound from THE LEADERS that needs to be given and heard. And it will cause GREAT release in the heavenlies and thus on earth for the next generations. Many hold so tightly, few are willing to fight hard and build, to hand it “better” to the next generations.

I sense that there is something mighty, and righteous, being released by your expressing what you did today. You have been expressing it, but you released it today.

What is Prophetic Counseling?

There is a difference between receiving Prophetic Counseling vs. Personal Prophecy.

When giving prophetic guidance and counseling it helps to know more about the person. The difference is when you receive a prophetic word from God He is telling you what He wants to say. When I am ministering in prophetic counseling He is giving me answers to what you need to know and what to do in order to receive the results you are looking for. When emailing or visiting over the phone most of the time God gives me the answers within seconds, if they are warranted questions. My understanding of this scripture below is different than what the Word of Faith movement taught me:

Anytime I am with someone or chatting via email or other ways I am listening to what God has to say. The is a totally different understanding of this verse rather than what Word of Faith has been teaching over the years; “Whatever we agree upon it will come to pass” one major flaw is the one person left out of this formula, GOD!

In the past, I spent much of my time traveling to other countries, but ministering in distant places left me drained. I have decided to hang up my traveling shoes and focus upon those families who regularly support this ministry. Receiving Your Personal Prophecy

Though a prophet may receive a monetary blessing when giving a person a word from God, he is not to be mistaken for a hireling. A prophet who is a hireling will give a false prophecy at the request of his financial provider for monetary gain.

In contrast to these false prophets, there are men of God who desire to only speak God’s words and to reveal God’s plans for the people. These men receive their spiritual blessing from God and their financial blessing from God’ people.

Old Testament Times

In the Old Testament we find that the Lord commanded Samuel, a prophet of God, to prophesy over a young man who would be coming his way around lunchtime. The Lord indicated that this young man’s name was Saul and he would be looking for his father’s lost donkeys.

Today’s Spiritual Guidance

As it was in the Old Testament it is today; it is not evil to seek a prophet for spiritual guidance or direction from God.

In this and other scriptures throughout the Bible, God has shown us that we must support his prophets. These men of old had conviction that they must bless the prophet, Samuel, for his intercession. God wants His people to be cheerful in giving.
