“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (John 14:26).

How wise our heavenly Father truly is! Over the years He has taught me to think about things in a much different way. Learning how to see around the corner of tomorrow is a huge advantage for anyone to have, especially during hard times. The vast majority of people seem to believe that hearing the Holy Spirit is reserved for those who are written about in the Holy Scriptures.

Even among the Spirit filled Christians many believe He only speaks to ministers or other elect, but this is simply not so. In fact, he has been speaking to you all your life; you just need someone to show you when He is speaking and how to tune your ear to His voice. Once you know when and how He has been speaking to you the Holy Spirit begins bringing to your remembrance all the times He has spoken throughout your life.

As I recall, much of my early childhood was spent lying in my small twin bed seeking God’s voice. As I remember, every time I asked Him a question, He would answer me in kind with another question. This forced me to stop and think.

With due thought I would always receive from Him more than just the answer to my question. With the knowledge I received from his question, I would gain understanding.

One night when I was about 6 years old and unable to sleep I asked God, “Why did you make feet so ugly?” In just a second or two, He responded, “How would you have made them?”

As I struggled with how I would make feet, I became frustrated that all my thoughts generated around objects that had already been made. Chicken feet, horse hooves, and bear paws were coming to my mind as I began imagining how I would have made human feet.

Finally, I grew weary and fell asleep. I learned that night that nothing is new, not even the ideas we receive are new. All that can be created is already here. Also, His answer to my question led me to understand that everything that He has created is beautiful, and that anything else to replace it would only bear the mark of a counterfeit.

This reminds me of the story of three scientists who decided that they were smart enough to create a man. They came to the brilliant conclusion (after reading the first book of the Bible) that all they needed was to obtain some dirt from various parts of the world.

As they stood before all the different mounds of soil, preparing to make a human, God spoke, “OH, NO! You make your own dirt!” The men then knew they would not succeed.

The story reveals that even the simplest of things in life cannot be recreated without God. However, when His Word abides within us, we can make anything we may need if we have His faith and the desire to believe.

“Jesus said, ‘If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you'” (John 5:17).

Since I got your prophecy with God’s word I pinned the prayer cloth under my pillow and have slept like a baby. Things are calming and I hold you the promises god has made to me. I saw feathers several times yesterday when I was out. In seeing those small changes and these breakthroughs are coming 🙂 I’ve suffered from self-doubt and anxiety for a long time not anymore in Jesus name. I had a dream the other night and woke up at 3:00 started to pray fell back to sleep and was awoken a little later by a flash of light. You all are doing good things 🙂

Man all I can say is WOW! I don’t know why a person has to go through so much when there’s a call on your life. But this article took me back to when I was ministered to by Prophetess Pam Vinnette from Oklahoma on New Year’s Eve 1994 and how she also ministered to my pregnant wife and unborn son. I remember the Lord prophesying to me and I wrote down what He said concerning me. I still have that word written down. I don’t think I ran from it, but I know I was more fearful of it. I seemed as though it was a huge responsibility and I still do, which causes some trust and confidence issues. I realize now the 9 years of crack addiction, the near death experience, the angelic experiences and even the current battle, is all part of the preparation process. Man I am at a loss for words at the moment, but I look forward to part 2 of this story.

I enjoyed reading this article very much. The world cannot understand God’s calling we just need to live the way God calls us. My husband ran from the call for 10 yrs. before answering. He finally answered and struggled with being a Methodist minister for 32 yrs. before he died but he was a serious, Bible preaching Methodist. We had a tough life at times but were so blessed. I would do it all over again. I don’t regret one day of it. So glad for people like you.

What is Prophetic Counseling?

There is a difference between receiving Prophetic Counseling vs. Personal Prophecy.

When giving prophetic guidance and counseling it helps to know more about the person. The difference is when you receive a prophetic word from God He is telling you what He wants to say. In the past, I spent much of my time traveling to other countries, but ministering in distant places left me drained. Receiving Your Personal Prophecy

Though a prophet may receive a monetary blessing when giving a person a word from God, he is not to be mistaken for a hireling. A prophet who is a hireling will give a false prophecy at the request of his financial provider for monetary gain.

In contrast to these false prophets, there are men of God who desire to only speak God’s words and to reveal God’s plans for the people. These men receive their spiritual blessing from God and their financial blessing from God’ people.

Old Testament Times

In the Old Testament we find that the Lord commanded Samuel, a prophet of God, to prophesy over a young man who would be coming his way around lunchtime. The Lord indicated that this young man’s name was Saul and he would be looking for his father’s lost donkeys.

Today’s Spiritual Guidance

As it was in the Old Testament it is today; it is not evil to seek a prophet for spiritual guidance or direction from God.

In this and other scriptures throughout the Bible, God has shown us that we must support his prophets. These men of old had conviction that they must bless the prophet, Samuel, for his intercession. God wants His people to be cheerful in giving.
