‘G3D’s Favorite Game’

Lesson #7 Series #23

“Pray, Hear, & Obey

When you have done all you know to do,
then seek God for His Word.

It was in the Fall of 1987. I had moved to Mesquite, Texas, to take a position with Church on the Rock, in Rockwall. My life had been turned upside down; everything was falling apart. I could not pay my rent, the electric company had sent notice they would be shutting off my lights, and I only had $10.00 to my name. I had been praying all day, seeking G3D for His Direction. Nothing was changing, and the hour was getting late, when I heard someone at my front door. I waited for a knock, but none came, just the shuffling of feet as they walked away. I went to the door and looked around, thinking maybe G3D had sent help.

However, as I turned to go back into my apartment, I noticed a posting on my front door. As I read the note, my heart sank. The notice was from the electric company saying they would be shutting off my electric the next day. It was getting dark and I began to pray even harder. I was so tired and felt as though I was getting nowhere. I was beginning to be really frightened, what was I going to do?

Trying to get my mind off my problems, I began to read a little booklet I had received from Rhema Bible School. As I read the booklet by, Kenneth Hagin, Sr., the founder of the school in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, had written, I began to feel peace in my heart. Then I read a verse of Scripture that seemed to leap straight off the page and into my spirit: “But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you (Matthew 6:33).

From this one verse of Scripture, my prayer changed and the Heavens opened. I could hear Him clearly say, “Go to the prayer breakfast.” I knew exactly where He was sending me, but I thought, it’s too far away, and wondered if I could afford to use my last ten dollars for gas. But G3D was calling and I knew I had to go, so I got myself ready, jumped in my pick-up truck and spent my last few dollars fueling up my tank.

When I arrived, I sat out in the parking lot and waited for everyone, but only the pastor showed up. He asked how I was doing, and I told him what all was going on in my life. He just laughed and laughed. Then he pulled out a check that was already made out. He said G3D had told him to put it in his pocket, as he was leaving his home, headed for the morning’s meeting. He handed me the check and said, “This is for you!” We both then laughed and began to praise G3D for bringing this blessing together.

The check was enough to pay my rent and electric, and to keep me going until I could collect a paycheck. The electric company did end up shutting off the electricity; however, they pulled the wrong meter. My neighbor in the apartment below was very upset.

Wise Men Still Seek Jesus:
“But from there you will seek the LORD your G3D, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29 NKJV)

G3D’s Promise to Those Who Obey:
“When you are in tribulation, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the Lord your G3D and obey His voice (for the Lord your G3D is a merciful G3D), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.” (Deuteronomy 4:30-31 NKJV)

We’re Headed Toward a Famine:
Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.” (Isaiah 55:6 NKJV)

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord G3D, “That I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD.” (Amos 8:11 NKJV)

Taking Nothing for Granted! We are living in a very special time!

Did G3D Reinstate Prophecy?

Prophetic Prayer-Did G3D Reinstate Prophecy?

For decades, there has been contentious questioning about whether the full five-fold ministry & spiritual gifts, including prophecy, has been reestablished in the modern age after a long period of inactivity following the 1st Century Church. What if He never stopped talking; we just stopped listening?

The argument that G3D suspended miraculous spiritual signs and wonders, including spiritual gifts and the office of Prophet after the events recorded in Scripture, comes from the fact that they expected G3D to fit their limited definitions of projected communication and behavior. There’s a similar dispute by Jewish Tradition, which states that prophecy ended after the Destruction of the First Temple, despite numerous examples of G3D communicating to His People.

Priest Zechariah, Father of John the Baptist, was confronted by Archangel Gabriel about his future son’s birth, while performing the incense offering. He remained in the Temple for an extended period of time and after exiting and being unable to speak, the other priests recognize that Priest Zechariah had received some kind of revelation, though they believed through a vision (ref. Luke 1: 8-23). After John’s birth, Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied (v. 67-79).

Mary was also informed by Archangel Gabriel that she would give birth despite being a virgin. When Mary went to visit her relative Elizabeth, the wife of Priest Zechariah, baby John the Baptist leapt in his mother’s womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Elizabeth recognized that Mary was carrying the promised Messiah and gave praise for Mary’s faith (ref. Luke 2:26-45).

When Joseph, the fiancé of Mary, discovered that she was pregnant, he quietly considered divorcing her, but was visited by an angel of the Lord in a dream informing Joseph that the child was the Messiah (ref. Matthew 1: 18-25). After Jesus’ birth, Joseph was again visited by an angel of the Lord, informing him that they needed to flee to Egypt to avoid the massacre that King Herod had planned.” After Herod’s destruction of the Innocents, he died and again Joseph was visited by an angel of the Lord in a dream, informing him that was safe to return to Israel. In yet another dream, Joseph was told to move to the district of Galilee in a city called Nazareth where Jesus grew up (ref. Matthew 2:13-235:2), that Christ would be born in Bethlehem of Judea. After this, they again were able to follow the star to find Jesus and were warned in a dream not to return to Herod and to go back home another way.

When Christ was brought to the Second Temple in Jerusalem, so his parents could perform the redemption of the firstborn son, there were people waiting for the “consolation of Israel” (Luke 2:25, 38). This is a reference to an additional ritual that occurred on or after the Yom Kippur animal sacrifice ceremony. First seen during the leadership of High Priest Simeon the Righteous, half of the red ribbon tied around the goat sent into the Wilderness was taken and hung on the Temple door. When the animal finally died, the scarlet threads would turn white. This miracle was meant to be a sign that G3D had not only forgiven the sins of the nation of Israel, but had also purified them.

According to Jewish Tradition, the red ribbon would turn white on Yom Kippur during the time of High Priest Simeon the Righteous, but after his death, many of the associated miracles during his tenure began to stop and sometimes it took days or weeks after Yom Kippur for the red ribbon to turn white after the death of the sacrificed goat in the wilderness. It is fitting that devoted men and women gathered at the Temple to wait for this miracle, this “consolation of Israel”, through which G3D spoke to His People.

Unsurprisingly, “the Rabbis taught that forty years prior (starting at Jesus’ Crucifixion in 30 A.D.) to the Destruction of the Temple (in 70 A.D.) [expected miracles related to Yom Kippur failed to occur such as] the lot did not come up in the [High Priest’s] right hand nor did the [ribbon] of scarlet wool become white…” (ref. Talmud, Tractate Yoma 39b). A definite clear statement by G3D to His People.

While the family of Jesus was at the Temple, a righteous and devout man, fittingly named Simeon, who had the Holy Spirit upon him, came to see the Christ Child as the Holy Spirit had said that Simeon would not die before he had seen the Messiah. After praising G3D, Simeon the righteous man, prophesied to Mary about Jesus’ role in the world (ref. Luke 2: 22-33).

In addition to Righteous Simeon’s blessing and prophecy, an elderly prophetess named Anna who had also been waiting in the Temple, fasting and praying day and night, recognized that Christ was not only the True Redemption of Jerusalem that the crowds had been waiting for but also the Messiah. This prophetess had the clarity to recognize both and gave thanks to G3D and spoke to the crowds about who Christ was and how He had come to redeem them permanently.

G3D has been in continual communication with Man in some way since the Creation of Adam. Though Jewish tradition holds that Prophecy ended some 2,500 years ago and some modern Christians contend that G3D’s Voice was strangled 2,000 years ago, they are both wrong because they refuse to recognize all the Ways G3D is able to communicate to us.

Whether by visions as Zechariah’s fellow priests anticipated. Or by visits by angels as Zechariah and Mary were blessed by. Both Joseph and the Wise Men from the East had dreams informing them of coming danger and G3D’s intentions. The Wise Men followed a star to Jerusalem and the Chief Priests and Scribes were able to locate Christ’s location through the writing of minor prophet Micah. Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist, recognized Mary as the Mother of Christ after her baby leapt in her womb. High Priest Simeon the Righteous instituted prophetic signs of Redemption associated with the Yom Kippur sacrifice and the people of Jerusalem used the scarlet ribbon turning white as a message from G3D, that He had purified Israel. Simeon the righteous man, waiting for the Redemption of Jerusalem, was covered by the Holy Spirit and told that he would see the Messiah before his death and even prophesied to Mary. And Anna, an aged Prophetess, received direct revelation from G3D that this was the Christ and told everyone waiting for the Redemption of Jerusalem that this child would be the Final Sacrifice.

Many well-meaning preachers claim that the gifts, positions, and power have been reinstated in this Modern Age. They are incorrect, but not in the same way the first century Jews were wrong. They expected Him to communicate in their specific ways, so they ignored all the signs and ways He spoke to them. G3D never stopped talking, we are just finally learning to listen.

Show Notes-Dull of Hearing

Hear and Obey or Go Your Own Way
Jesus is not dead. He is alive and He is speaking to you and I. The problem is that many have become dull of hearing.

We have become so involved in what the world has to offer with all of its noise, its propaganda, and its advertisements that it has become difficult to know God’s perfect will for our lives. Though the Holy Spirit is always trying to speak to us over the noise of this world, and He wants to tell us what’s to come in our future – if we will only hear G3D.

One of the ways God speaks to us is by revealing His will through personal prophecy from a prophetic person, things about which only God would. How will we be able to know except there is one given to us to hear G3D for us? By hearing a prophecy from a prophet or prophetic minister, you will have the unction and desire to hear G3D for yourself.

Hearing His Spirit Within Your Spirit
G3D is speaking, Spirit to spirit. “Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27).

The disciples said to Jesus, “Speak plainly, we do not understand, for You speak in parables and sayings that are confusing” (paraphrased). If the disciples walked with Jesus in the flesh, eye to eye, and yet they could not comprehend what Jesus was saying, how much more difficult is it for you and I? We who are born of the Spirit must learn to hear him who is Spirit. It is a challenge. It is not something you can just begin to do. It has to happen to you before you begin to understand. And when it happens to you, you will have a choice. You will have a choice of whether to hear and obey or to go your own way.

“If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear. Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” (Mark 4:24-25 NKJV)

Calling Down Fiery Forces

Prophetic Prayer-Calling Down Fiery Forces

While Western Nations burst into violent riots and looting, and extremists attack and burn down churches, police stations, & courthouses, it’s easy to wonder where G3D is amongst the Chaos. We must remember that the Hosts of Heaven has Fiery Forces standing ready to be activated and called down on behalf of His Faithful Followers who abide in His Will.

When Syria was at war with Israel, the King of Israel was wise and received regular military advice from Prophet Elisha, the Man of G3D, who would make recommendations on troop movements and camp locations based on the information that he had received prophetically. This advice was greatly cherished, because Elisha heard the very words that the King of Syria spoke in his bedchamber.

When the King of Israel was able to route Syria and prevent being overtaken on multiple occasions, the King of Syria became suspicious that there was a spy in his chamber of counselors. They all explained that they were loyal to him, but were aware of the prophetic power that Elisha had which spoiled the king’s plans for military conquest.

The King of Syria determined that he would send a huge military force to capture Elisha in the city of Dothan where he was staying. So a grand army of horses and chariots surrounded the city by night and prepared to besiege the city and capture Prophet Elisha.

Elisha’s assistant rose early in the morning and when walking around the city border saw how the city had been encircled by a massive military force ready to destroy and it burn down. He panicked and ran to Elisha asking in desperation “What will we do?!”

Elisha was calm since he trusted in G3D, replying, “Do not be afraid, the forces that are on our side are far greater than theirs”.

Then Elisha prayed, asking “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see”.

So the LORD opened the eyes of Elisha’s assistant and he beheld a marvelous sight: the mountain was filled with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. The Hosts of Heaven were ready to do battle on behalf of G3D’s entrusted prophet and annihilate the forces that sought to steal, kill, and destroy.

But because Elisha knew G3D’s Will, he did not call for their utter ruin and a grand show of power that would make the bloodiest battles of military history seem like lite skirmishes. He did not call for vengeance for challenging G3D’s anointed.

When the Syrians charged the city, ready to besiege and tear it down, Elisha prayed to the LORD, asking humbly, “Please strike this people with blindness”.

G3D, who had opened the eyes of Elisha’s attendant to see the horses and chariots of fire ready for battle, sealed the eyes of the Syrian military and struck them all blind in accordance with the prayer of Elisha.

Elisha calmly left the city walls and went amongst the mighty men of battle, clad in their armor and their weapons of war in hand, and told them that they were in the wrong location and the wrong city. He explained that if they followed him, he would take them to the person they were looking for.

The very men who had trained and prepared themselves for violence, to tear apart the Man of G3D, were pathetically led by him in their disabling blindness to the border of Samaria. When they had left Israel, Elisha prayed asking that G3D would restore their sight, where they saw and realized that they were now in Samaria.

When the King of Israel saw that Elisha had led the Syrian military to him, he asked the Prophet excitedly “My father, shall I strike them down? Shall I strike them down?”

Seeing the men who had been sent to capture and kill him, Prophet Elisha replied, “You will not strike them down. Would you kill those you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? They are prisoners of war, so provide them with food and drink so that they can be prepared to go back to their master.”

So the King of Israel prepared a great feast for the military he had been at war with and the men who had been send to capture and kill Prophet Elisha. After they had eaten and drank their fill, they were sent back to the King of Syria and the Syrians did not raid the land of Israel again.

As strategically profitable as it was to be able to hear the King of Syria’s voice in his bedchamber when he discussed military strategy, hearing, knowing, and obeying the Voice of G3D was of greater importance.

While Elisha could have called down a massive military, emblazoned for earth shaking warfare, he first sought to align himself with G3D’s Will.

Rather than ending the lives of an entire military, G3D instead chose to humble them by gently taking away their power to see.

When led to the King of Israel and given the opportunity to execute them, G3D’s Prophet instead ordered that they be declared prisoners of war, and given water and food.

After the soldiers were returned to the King of Syria, they told stories of the G3D who took away their sight, the prophet they were sent to kill, leading them through the entire country, and the king whom they had been at war with, giving them a banquet before sending them back home to their families. Whether out of awe, gratefulness, or fear, the Syrian army stopped raiding Israel. It was out of G3D’s Gentleness & Kindness, rather than the power of destruction, ready to be unleashed, that Peace overtook Israel (ref. 2 Kings 6:8-23).

We must remember that we serve the very same G3D that is able to open our eyes and reveal to us spiritual things, is also able to close the earthly eyes of those that threaten us. The very same G3D that readies armies to rescue us and destroy our enemies, is also able to humble them and make them experience His Power and Might, without shedding a drop of blood.

Prophet Elisha’s true strength did not lie in his ability to hear the plans of the foreign king or reign down death from above by the Heavenly Hosts, but to Hear G3D’s Voice and know when it was His Will to use force, or to kill them with kindness. Likewise, as societal, cultural, and political tensions exacerbate, before we instinctively ask for heavy handed responses or implement appeasement campaigns, we should first seek Him in Prayer, Hear His Voice, & Obey His Will.

Then our nations will be ruled by His Peace.

Show Notes-What Happens When We Pray?

Jesus challenged Peter with a question about the power of prayer: Is it possible that we can pray and our Heavenly Father would send His Angels to provide, protect and prosper us?

(Jesus said) “Do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions (12,000) of angels?” (Matthew 26:53 NKJV)

What does happen when we pray?

Jesus came to disciple all of us NOT just the original 12. He also said; “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” (John 14:12 NKJV)

Allow me to challenge your faith with this question; Where is Jesus today? Is He not sitting at the right hand of the Father making intercession for you, the Church?

The author of the Book of Hebrews really taps into what we are about to learn in this week’s study; ‘What Happens When We Pray?’

He writes; “Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward G3D, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if G3D permits.” (Hebrew 6:1-3 NKJV)
Today, we pray G3D will permit us to unveil the mysteries of how prayer works and what we can expect from what we will learn from this week’s message, ‘What Happens When We Pray?’.

“Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them (the unbelievers) it has not been given.” (Matthew 13:11 NKJV)

Prayer for Understanding

Prophetic Prayer-Prayer for Understanding

Prophet Kent Simpson often says “It’s not enough to Hear G3D; you gotta know what He means”. Spiritually, whether that is speaking in tongues, or receiving prophecy, knowledge without understanding, doesn’t make any sense.

In Paul’s Letter to the Corinthians, he tells them that they should desire spiritual gifts and should actively use them for the strengthening of the Church. Since each gift contributed a necessary aspect to the Body, they would all be needed for the group to function properly.

But one of the issues that he brings up is the use of spiritual gifts that, when used without their compliment, would only benefit the user, without bringing blessings to the Church.

Paul singles out Speaking in Tongues, since it was originally meant to serve as a sign to those who do not believe. If a group of believers gathered together and an unbelieving outsider saw them all speaking in different languages, none of which the speakers nor those watching understood, the outsiders would think the group to be insane (1 Corinthians 14:22-23).

Paul compounds that “unless I understand the meaning of what someone says to me, we will be like foreigners to each other” (v.11) and that speaking in unknown tongues when no one can translate would be like an instrument like a flute or harp that was not making clear musical notes, muddying the potentially beautiful music (v.7). You could be Praising G3D or thanking Him for His Blessings, but because what is said is not understood, other people in the community cannot be helped (v.16-17).

If you are already blessed with being able to speak in different languages already (especially unknown tongues), Paul instructs that we should pray for the gift of interpretation so that we may understand what is spoken. In this way, your Spirit and Mind (one of the aspects of our Soul) can join in unison and praise G3D fully. By speaking and interpreting tongues, you will pray and sing in the Spirit and Mind and those around you will be able to be blessed and helped since they will understand (v. 13-17).

Paul performs what a modern reader would call a humble brag, when he thanks G3D that he speaks in more tongues than any other within the Church. But he follows up that rather than speaking a thousand words in another language no one is able to translate, it is better that he speaks only five words that he can interpret and understand, since that gives him the opportunity to teach others (v. 18-19).

Because it must be understood by others for their strengthening, encouragement, and comfort, Paul encourages the Church members to actively pray for the gift of Prophecy (v.5) as it is one of the gifts that help the Church grow stronger (v.12). Though of course, prophecy is not limited to positively affecting people’s lives and emotions.

Though Prophecy is a sign for people who believe, if the whole congregation gathered together and all began to prophecy, and outsiders witnessed this, they would be convicted by their sin and judged by the wait of the words that fell on their ears. The secrets that they thought had been hidden in their hearts would be known and they would bow down in wonder and awe and worship G3D, declaring that “Truly G3D is with you” (v22-25).

While Prophecy should be desired as a spiritual gift, since those giving the message will speak with greater understanding, since it should be in a shared language, speaking in other tongues should not be discouraged, especially if those with the gift of interpretation are present. As Paul writes regarding the ideal Church meeting, one speaks in a different language, and another person interprets that language, each supporting the other with their spiritual gifts. But if there is no interpreter, they should still speak secret things in their Spirit to G3D (v.2, 28).

Though this speaking through the Spirit is uplifting to your personal relationship with G3D, it is essentially a half-blessing as you miss out on understanding what your Spirit is crying out and your spiritual community is denied this as well. Because our gifts all work for the purpose of building up an strengthening the Body, it is so important that those who speak in tongues pray that they also have the gift to interpret them or that G3D provides them with a member of the Body to aid with their gift to understand what has been said.

Likewise regarding prophecy, especially scriptural that was meant for a previous generation, it is important that we understand what was said so that we can see how it was fulfilled. Modern prophecy also must be expressed in a way that the receiver can understand and can use G3D’s Message to change their lifestyles, prepare for the future, or be comforted by His Presence.

If you weren’t already aware, PMT has partnered with Charisma Podcasting Network to host our School of Prophetic Knowledge show. Prophet Kent Simpson’s new series teaches listeners to Pray, Hear, & Obey; while Prophetess Savannah & PMT Administrator Eric Sepulveda are laying down the basics of Prophetic Principles, Properties, & Performances.

While the greater gift is not only being able to speak in tongues, but also to interpret what is being said, which is only superseded by prophecy, we hope these new resources are a great blessing to you during this time of great uncertainty & increase your understanding. By not only knowing how to hear G3D, but also being able to comprehend what He is means, we will be able to fulfill His Will on Earth.

Show Notes-Praying in Tongues

‘Let Us Not be Ignorant’

Many teach that speaking or Praying in Tongues is the evidence of being filled with The Holy Spirit. To support this view, they refer to the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2. The writer of Acts never calls tongues “the” outward manifestation of the baptism of The Holy Spirit, but there is no question that he accepts it as “a” confirmation that this spiritual event took place.

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 12 not to be ignorant concerning spiritual gifts. He then proceeds to teach us that the gifts are diverse and not all Spirit-filled people operate in the same gifts. Tongues and the Interpretation of Tongues are among those listed in 1 Corinthians 12, and Paul did not take this occasion to mention that any were the prevailing evidence of being filled with the Spirit. Rather, he taught that all who are Spirit-filled have at least one supernatural gift. This empowering, in any of its expressions, could be said to be proof of spiritual baptism.
Regrettably, not all Spirit-filled Christians operate in their appointed gift or gifts. While this may convict them in the minds of others, this is not evidence that they have not been filled with The Holy Spirit. This action is subject to the dictates of each human soul and not necessarily a reflection of an absence of spiritual baptism. We’ll not be ignorant regarding the subject of Praying in Tongues; therefore, our study begins on the topic in this week’s episode.

Rescued from the Jaws of Death

Prophetic Prayer-Rescued from the Jaws of Death

As the World moves further away from the G3D of Creation, the persecution of His Followers will intensify. But now that everything the World put its trust in has begun to collapse, and they all cry out for help, trapped in the clutches of Destruction, whose desperate pleas will be heard?

After the exile of the Southern Tribes of Israel (Judea) by the Babylonian Empire, King Nebuchadnezzar ordered that the most intellectually promising men be selected for service in the palace and the empire’s bureaucrat system. Of these men, Daniel and his three friends from the Tribe of Judah, Hananiah, Mishael, & Azariah, were recognized for their wisdom and aptitude and sent to the academy for three years to learn how to read, write, and serve within the administrative system.

In order to cut off those who had been conquered from their previous heritage and history, the Babylonian Empire had people given new names. Daniel was known as Belteshazzar, Hananiah became Shadrach, Mishael was given Meshach, and Azariah named Abednego. But, despite having their names changed, Daniel resolved that he would maintain his dedication to keeping the G3D of Israel’s Commandments regarding dietary laws.

When Daniel asked the court official over them if they could eat a diet aligned with their religious obligations, to avoid eating blood and drinking wine, the court official informed them that he was afraid King Nebuchadnezzar would kill him for changing the menu. Babylonians, at that time, may have adopted the beliefs of the nations they conquered, that consuming animal blood and strong wine gave people greater life force, strength, and knowledge. Since the King was allocating food to his administrators from his own table, rejecting it was insulting, but doing so and handicapping your ability to serve him was worthy of death.

Daniel trusted that G3D would protect them and asked that a test be conducted that Daniel and his three friends be allowed to drink water and eat vegetables instead of their assigned meals for ten days to see how the dietary changes affected their health and ability to fulfill their duties. After ten days of this diet, popularly known as a Daniel Fast, they looked healthier and better nourished than the rest of the young men who at the royal food.

For their faithfulness in keeping G3D’s Commands & trusting in His Protection, He gave them greater knowledge and perception of all kinds of literature and learning. These blessings surpassed all man-made knowledge, as Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. Their wisdom and understanding was ten times greater than all the magicians and enchanters in the entire empire (ref. Daniel 1).

Later, when the king had a disturbing dream, he summoned all the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers, and astrologers to not only interpret his dream, but first tell him what it was to prove that they had received divide revelation. If they could not do this, they would be torn apart and their homes would be demolished. When no one stepped forward to the challenge, King Nebuchadnezzar ordered that all the wise men in all of Babylon be executed.

When Daniel learned of what was coming, he told his friends to plead to G3D for Mercy, asking for insight as to the king’s dream and its interpretation. Later, Daniel received a vision and the mystery of the king’s dream had been revealed to him; he composed a song in praise.

After Daniel correctly recalled the dream and its interpretation to King Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel was placed over the entire Babylonian province and was in charge of its wise men. Daniel also petitioned to have Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego appointed as administrators over the province while Daniel remained at the royal court.

Though they were separated, both groups would face daunting challenges that would greatly test their faith and the power of prayer.

After having his dream interpreted, King Nebuchadnezzar decided to replicate the statue from his vision made with gold and ordered that whenever fanfare was played before the image, everyone should bow before it, or else they would be thrown into a fiery furnace as punishment. It came to the King’s attention that Daniel’s friends refused to bow before the image and when confronted, they firmly declared that they would not bow to down to the golden image nor serve the Babylonian gods, because the G3D they serve would deliver them. Even if He did not, they would not disobey Him and serve their gods or bow before the idol.

The king was so enflamed from their insolence, they he ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual. After being tied up, they were thrown into the furnace, where the king and his royal court watched in wonder. They saw four men walking around in the fire, one in the likeness of an angel. After the three men stepped out of the furnace, the king praised G3D and recognized that He had sent His Angel to protect them for their dedication. Afterwards, he promoted them to more prestigious positions (ref. Daniel 2).

Soon afterwards, the Babylonians were conquered by the Persians, but the new ruler, Darius recognized Daniel’s skill as an administrator and placed him as one of the governors over the kingdom. Jealous of his position, and knowing Daniel would not stop praying to G3D, lower ranking officials convinced King Darius to issue a decree that no one could pray to or worship any other god or human besides the king or they would be thrown into the lion’s den.

When Daniel was caught openly disobeying the edict, King Darius tried to find a way to stop the deadly consequences, only to be reminded by his officials that no Persians laws could ever be revoked. As Daniel was being thrown into the lion’s den, the conqueror of the known world prayed “May your G3D, whom you serve continually, rescue you!”

The king was not able to eat or sleep or be distracted in any way that night and at daybreak, he rushed to see what had become of Daniel. When the king asked if G3D had rescued him, Daniel proudly replied that He had sent his angel to shut the mouths of the lions and had not been hurt. King Darius issued a decree to the whole nation declaring the Power of the G3D who saves (ref. Daniel 6).

Each time they were challenged to break their loyalty and trust to G3D, Daniel and his friends refused to bend to the pressures of the World. Even as they gained more power and prestige, and were put in increasingly more dangerous situations, they continued to worship and trust Him.

While we might not be placed in such life-threatening positions, we will have our own unique challenges that will intimidate us to bend to society’s demands, dangling our reputations, careers, and relationships as collateral. It is in these moments that we need to realize that G3D will rescue us from anything that might threaten us, but we must place Him first in our lives and be willing to lose everything in the pursuit of serving Him. If we try to save our lives, we will lose them. If we live them worshiping and serving Him, we will experience the Power and Love of the G3D who Saves.

Show Notes-Prayer of Supplication

‘Reaching for a Breakthrough’

The Prayer of Supplication is also known as the prayer of desperation. When we come to a place in our lives where we do not think we can go any future this type of prayer is what you need. Crying out to G3D is a good thing; for He wants you to call upon Him when you are in need. Even when it’s not you who needs His help, rather, someone who is very special to you is in trouble and they are in need, your Prayer of Supplication will be heard.

There are times in my life I have cried out in fear making my supplication to G3D with just two words. It went like this; “Jesus, Help Me!” Immediately, Peace came upon me and within a few hours it appeared as if everything had miraculously worked out.

Many times, I have cried out the Prayer of Supplication with surprising results. One of the most miraculous times and most unexpected occurrences was right after I had a motorcycle accident. I found myself with a 750lb motorcycle on top of me. When I tell you more about what happened in this week’s episode, you won’t stop laughing! Our G3D is so real and extremely funny at times. When you include Him in everything you do, He will reveal so many sides of Himself. You can’t help but fall in love with Him over and over again.

Prayer for Dominion

Prophetic Prayer-
Prayer for Dominion

Only two verses were dedicated to his story, but the book launched about his prayer became a smash hit, selling millions of copies. Despite repeating his desperate cry to the Lord daily, many fail to have their petitions heard, because they have the wrong heart.

Jabez raised his request to G3D during a turbulent time in Israel. Each tribe’s members were responsible for conquering their inherited parcels within the Promised Land and Jabez’s tribe Judah was leading the charge. But because G3D had already promised that He would deliver their enemies into their hands, the men proceeded with great courage and were constantly victorious (ref. Judges 1:1-17). Jabez’s supplication that G3D would bless him and enlarge his territory came from asking for triumph in the challenge that the LORD had given him.

But many of the other tribes did not have faith that the G3D which had delivered them out of Egypt and had helped them conquer every enemy they had come across, would assist them in accomplishing the task He had given them. So rather than overthrow and expel the inhabitants like they had been ordered, they lived amongst them, intermarried, and adopted their false idols (ref. Judges 1 & 2). These other tribe’s failing to fulfill the LORD’s Command led to a dark time for Israel’s first families.

We know from the scriptures that His mother had maned him Jabez, because she had given birth to him in pain (ref. 1 Chronicles 4:9). Whether it was because Jabez was one of the last children born in Egypt before being freed, Jabez’s father was one of the many people who died after turning away from G3D, or Jabez was born during the Israelite’s 40 years in the Wilderness, we aren’t certain.

Jewish tradition holds that Jabez is actually a secondary name for Othniel, the First Judge of Israel. While it’s not scripturally confirmed, since it’s unclear in the Chronicles lineage who Jabez’s father was, it’s reasonable to assert that they were at least familiar with each other, since they are both of the tribe of Judah and lived in the same time period.

When the Israelites were trying to conquer their inheritance, Caleb, one of the previous scouts into the Promised Land, offered his daughter Achsah in marriage to whomever overtook the giants in the land of Debir. Othniel rose to the challenge, cleared the region, and married Achsah, but she requested of her father Caleb, that in addition to her dowry of dry fields in the lowlands, that she also be granted a spring/stream so that she could water her lands. Caleb, her loving and generous father, not only gave her the springs of the South that she requested, but also the springs in the Northern region, mirroring how G3D granted Jabez what he pleaded for (ref. Judges 1:11-15).

After Joshua, the leader of the Israelites, had died, they fell into idolatry and did evil in the sight of the LORD and forgot Him to serve false gods. G3D’s Righteous Anger was against them and He allowed to be conquered by the king of Mesopotamia and serve under him for eight years. The children of Israel cried unto the LORD and He raised up a deliverer: Othniel. The Spirit of the LORD came upon Othniel and he judged Israel and went to war against their oppressors and overthrew King Chushan-rishathaim. While Othniel served as Judge over Israel, the land had rest for those forty years (ref Judges 3:1-6).

If Othniel is the same man who cried out to G3D asking that the LORD’s Hand would be with him and keep him from evil so that he that he would not cause pain, it makes sense that he would desire G3D’s Guidance and Direction, not only during his military campaign, but more importantly during his forty year judgeship over Israel. His prayer that G3D would bless him and enlarge his territory, did not stop with the land that his father-in-law Caleb gave in addition to the dowry, but extended to his responsibilities as Judge that G3D had bestowed upon him to rescue Israel.

One of the most important details that implies Jabez is actually Othniel, is the fact that his story begins that “Jabez was more honorable than his brothers”. In a list chronicling the first families of Israel, with Othniel, Israel’s first Judge, being listed only a few lines later, such a title is extraordinary. But even if they are not the same person, Jabez’s standing in G3D’s eyes, helps us understand why his prayer was not only worth becoming scripture, but why G3D granted him what he requested.

At a minimum, we know Jabez first committed himself with G3D before he made his supplication. His asking to be given support and have his territory extended, lined up with his responsibility to retake the Promised Land. And his desire to be kept from evil to avoid causing damage, probably related to him trying to avoid becoming like the other Israelites who had fallen away from the LORD and His Will. Most importantly, he cries out to G3D, recognizing that he must rely on the Creator to accomplish all this.

If Jabez is actually Othniel, his prayer is compounded exponentially.

Not only does G3D protect Othniel during the initial siege of the Promised Land, He is also with Othniel while fighting giants in one of the most dangerous regions in the territory. After winning the equivalent of a princess as his wife, his new bride is wise enough to ask her father for water to provide for their lands and subsequently has her dowry doubled with some of the best land in the nation included. When the nation is conquered by outside invaders, Othniel is not limited to simply being remembered as the son-in-law of a famous Israelite leader, but has the Spirit of the Lord come upon him marking Othniel as the first Judge of Israel. With G3D’s Hand protecting and guiding him, he is able to repel the invading forces and maintains Peace in the land for forty years. But because Othniel was a righteous man, who sought to fulfill G3D’s Will, the Lord granted him what he requested.

Whether these two great men were one and the same, or simply relatives of some sort, is ultimately irrelevant. Their lives are testimonies to the power and requirements of the Prayer for Dominion.

We cannot pray for greater blessings and more power, influence, or responsibilities, until we have aligned ourselves with the Ways and Will of G3D. Even more so, we need to recognize that, like the children of Israel, once they become successful, many people forget Him, and do what is right in their own eyes. G3D will bless us in ways that are affiliated with our accountabilities to Him, but if asked, He will also protect us from the human temptations that come from gaining greater dominion. Jabez’s (and possibly Othniel’s) Prayer for Dominion was answered, because his heart was focused on the Will of G3D, rather than the desires of Man.
