War is Imminent

Before the last presidential election, it was revealed to me and a few other ministers that our Nation would be headed on a direct path for civil war. At the time Our Lord began revealing this prophetic word, we had little understanding about what He meant. Now that we are on the very Edge of a major breakdown in our society, we can see how this is all beginning to play out. The instigators of this civil war do have a purpose and that is to break down our present system of government. Not only is this civil war a racial war, but it is also a war of attrition, a breakdown in moral values, and an expression of hate toward those “One Per-Centers” who have more than the rest (99%) of the American populous. “So get Your House in Order.” For the past two years, another word that has been delivered concerns the stockpiling of enough food, fuel and daily condiments to last for at least 3 months. One of the greatest commodities for exchange in the near future will be any one of the three items listed: food, fuel and daily commodities. “Is Gold or Silver a Good Deal?” Well, there is a problem looming over the World Bank and the Currency Exchange Market Index. You see, it looks as though before the year is over we will see the International Market Index change the factoring that presently determines the strength of the US Dollar as versus the Chinese Dollar. If that happens, then we will no longer use any of the current formulas for calculating exchange rates for currency, goods and products. Even if you have gold or silver, the exchange rate that we use today will not be the same after the switch. So you could have $10,000 in silver today but it could be devalued to less than $1,000 after the switch. The thing is, if you have $’s in real hard product, you have an item that will exchange for a much higher rate than any currency or metal. If you have a warehouse full of beans, rice, canned goods, fuel, clothes, toilet paper, etc., you will be worth more than if you had the money in the bank. I know this sounds extreme but you might be surprised how much more you could make on these items. Inflation alone will drive up the value of all these goods. If I had the extra $’s I would be purchasing utility vehicles like the Kabato CUVs. This type of vehicle averages above 50 miles to the gallon, and they come with air conditioning, if requested. These vehicles are going to bring huge returns. Bartering is going to become the true measure of exchange for a 3 to 4 year period of time. “The Next #1 Selling Pick-up Truck 2013” There are other companies that make the same type of units for a lot less than the cost of a Kabato. These units are street legal in many cities. Gainesville has started allowing people to drive anything with headlights and tail lights in the city and throughout the county. Even golf carts are being used for daily transportation. Pick-up of the Future Ty Boye

The Holy Bible

by Sandy Landry

One of the simplest ways to hear God is through His written word. Remember when Moses brought down the tablets with the law and the Israelites didn’t want God talking directly to them because it was too scary? They acted like He was the mean giant of the mountain, ready to shout at them or burn them to a crisp if they got too close. It was fine for Moses to “go up there,” but they wanted an interpreter.

His Word that He has given to us is a love letter. Have we been “preached at and hammered with it” so much that we don’t expect to approach God through it and receive loving answers to give us faith in our struggles? It is the supernatural book of the ages. It is so powerful, there are places where it can only be had through smuggling, or if found, means imprisonment or worse. It is a two edged sword able to divide truth from lies. It is fire and passion, reality, promise, comfort, hope, salvation, instruction, principle, and the intimate whispers of a God who loves us and wants to point us to the WAY.

Comments and Testimonies

For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.      ~ Rev. 19:10b

Prophecy is the testimony that Jesus is not dead but Alive and Speaking to you and I.
Kent Simpson,
Prophetic Pastor

Dear Kent,

I am friends with Ian Haskell and he recommended I request a prophetic word from you. Well, as you know, I did as he recommended and quite frankly I was expecting a “warm fuzzy” word that would apply to just about anybody. But I was so hungry for the things of God and a word from the Lord I thought I would give it a shot. I also felt it strange that I should have to pay $30 for a word from the Lord but Ian explained that your ministry is full time and a workman is worthy of his hire. Well sir, I agree… a workman is worthy of his hire.

I got my word the other day fully expecting that warm fuzzy word but I was shocked to hear what the Lord had to say to me through you. After I heard the word I called Ian and said “You have to hear this…Kent NAILED ME.”

Kent, everything you said to me was spot on… well what is to come to pass yet is completely beyond me but the things you said of my past and what is happening right now was dead on. So I can only presume that the future things will come to pass as well.

Kent, after many, many years of being “called” to be an apostle I have finally been sent into the apostolic ministry God has in store for me. The Lord has been preparing me for about 20 years to walk in the apostolic. Through many years of ups and downs and many “false starts” (I have been known to run ahead of the Lord) I have finally learned that everything we do is from a position of rest and peace in Christ. From out of our deep personal relationship with Him comes the works. The works are a result of the relationship.

You told me that the depression will soon be passing. I have been clinically depressed for over 30 years as well as bi-polar. I believe the word you gave me was a promise from the Lord that He will deliver me from this debilitating disease so that I can finally do His will and walk out the ministry He called me into. I also deal with agoraphobia (an unreasonable fear of leaving the house) and also SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder, fear of crowds) I believe He is delivering me from these illnesses as we speak. I have spent many, many years in fear, but all the while the Lord has been preparing me for His work. Studying scriptures and ministering on the internet. My time to walk among His people without fear has come. Praise His Holy Name!

I want to thank you so very much for being obedient and giving me such an encouraging word.

Your Servant in Christ

I Want to Be Your Prophetic Pastor

In the past I spent much of my time traveling to other countries, but ministering in distant places left me drained. I have decided to hang up my traveling shoes and focus upon those families who regularly support this ministry. It is time for me to develop a long term relationships with the people who have a real desire to learn more about what God is doing today.

From 1989 to 1995 I ministered to over 250,000 people via prophecy tapes. I receive hundreds of prophecy requests each month and I will continue to send out personal prophecy tapes and CD’s and Audio Emails to those who are seeking God.

In addition to the prophetic gift God has entrusted to me, the Lord has also directed me to become a Prophetic Pastor to those who will receive me. In this new capacity I can sow prophetic seeds into the lives of those who want to prosper with me. If you will allow me to be your Prophetic Pastor, I will commit to be there for you, and help you prosper in spiritual and financial health and wealth.

He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

Chapter 5: A Mail-Order Revelation

The Sunday TYM.E.S. (Meditations, Encouragement, and Sharpening in Him)

Dear Readers,

Sister Ty Boye

Today’s article, entitled “A Mail-Order Revelation,” is fifth in a series which began about a month ago. For anyone who may need to catch up, please email me at texthisword@gmail.com, and I would be happy to forward Chapters 1-4. As I have said before, I know this story will seem a little jumpy here and there, as most of my personal detail is left out. Sandy Landry and I are in the process of writing a book that will greatly fill in these details. For now, the topic here is “Getting Started Hearing His Voice”. It is the exciting adventure of getting to know HIM.

Most of you have at one time sought a prophetic word, whether formally or informally, whether from Kent or in a church service or simply from a prayer partner. Today’s installment deals with the expectations I had regarding my first personal prophecy. Perhaps you can relate to this story in some way, as you think back on receiving your first prophetic word.

My first CD from Kent did not include any spectacular words of knowledge. It did not speak of my health, family, friends, relationships, church, career, or financial situation. At the time, I desperately wished it had. Instead, the word spoke only in the broadest of generalities about moving on and learning how to hear God and understanding His timing. But please note how the Lord used the humble word “wallering” (“wallowing” for you non-Texans) to operate like a knife, “piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow.” (Hebrews 4:12). The “thoughts and intents” of my heart began to be laid bare. The Lord began to expose how it was that, even as a long-time Christian, I had been living out of the flesh rather than out of the spirit. As it turned out, this “simple” word proved to be the most profound word I have ever received in that the Lord clearly used it to set the stage for all that transpired afterward.

Today’s installment will also discuss some “intangibles” that I carried away from the experience of receiving the prophecy. The anointing and impartation of faith did exceed all expectation! These were gifts from HIM, by grace, as prayers of faith mingled with the hearing, believing and obeying the Lord. I pray that reflecting on these stories will bless you. Perhaps the Lord may even motivate you to revisit your own prophecies and to allow Him to refresh you through them.

“How precious are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.”

Psalm 139:17-18

Praise HIM,
Sister TY

A Mail-Order Revelation

Last week I paused in mid-sentence concerning the words Kent spoke on my personal prophecy CD which arrived in a padded envelope in early May 2008. I was about to say that his words were so ……humble and plain.

What had I expected to hear on this mail-order revelation? A shouting, ranting Old Testament-style prophet? A mumbling ethereal voice? A sermon disguised as a prayer? But Prophet Simpson haltingly put forth a few simple statements:

“It is clear that the Lord has given you an unction to move on, to go forward, and not to find yourself any longer wallering in a rut.”

Stop right there, I thought. My blood pressure rose a little. “Wallering”? Wasn’t “wallering” for hogs and hippos? Would the Lord say that? Wouldn’t He at least say “wallowing”? Am I like a…oh, never mind. Ouch!! However, I had to agree with the Lord. “Wallering” summed it up. I remembered crying out to Him in many desperate “get me out of here!” prayers, l-o-n-g before this phase had started. Feeling trapped by an endless cycle of overwork, even Christian “overwork”, I had begged the Lord to free me from, basically, myself. The life patterns were overwhelming, and there was no way out but Him. I was done with “figuring out” my life. After “wallering” most of my life in the mud pit of circumstance, I had only recently realized the Lord was still speaking to us Christians supernaturally and in visions. Yes, I needed to move on. Now this Prophet Kent said I had been given an “unction” that permitted me to do so. What was an unction? Hmm. More study needed…The prodigal son had “wallered”, too. Hadn’t the memory of the father awakened him and moved him on?

Kent’s warm voice droned on, and now the Lord was speaking:

“For I am not wood pulp and ink, bound in genuine leather. I AM the I AM. In the beginning I was the word. I AM the word…..And you will find as I begin to speak into your heart…you will find it will become louder, much louder, and unction shall become greater, and you will know that it is time to move, to move on and go forward and not continue to stand still.” The Lord says, “I will take you through it, and I will show you how to follow my voice, and I will show you how to begin to see that timing is everything. This is the way that I will begin to use you, to direct you, to lead and guide you. And you will follow me as you are led by my spirit. I will lead you out of this difficult situation, and you will find in the end you have accomplished much, but it is only because you have given an ear to hear.”

My spirit clung to these words: “I will show you how to follow My voice.” This was the way out of the “wallering”, and at the same time, it was more. Learning to follow His voice was the key to finding my destiny. “Hearing” in a personal way had not been emphasized in my Christian experience. Now in early 2008, with the supernatural vision and its aftermath, I had just learned that He could be heard and followed, that is, obeyed. And now I was open to hearing more.

Frequently revisiting this word from Kent, I received an additional impartation of faith. I finally believed I could and would hear Him. And soon I found myself doing so with more frequency and more “volume” than I had ever experienced before.

My life circumstances had not changed. In fact, the prophecy stated that a journey through a giant “maze” of obstacles lay ahead of me. I prepared for the long haul. By clinging to what I heard Him say and learning to follow His voice, I would make it to the end of the maze and finally know with assurance that something had been accomplished, on His behalf.

As days went by, I began to wonder: did this word mean I had a prophetic gift? Imagine questioning what a prophetic word meant! (Perhaps you have done so…) I needed to discover what was my next step. For as Kent says often, “It is not enough to hear God; you must also know what He means.” Should I try to contact this Prophet Simpson? I imagined him spending hours each day secluded in a cave or a basement, deep in the spirit realm. Perhaps my email would break his concentration and annoy him. I dismissed the thought of trying to get in touch with him. My story would take too long to explain, anyway.

I asked the Lord to reveal my next step somehow. The prophecy had said the Lord would teach me to follow His voice, right? He had already begun to lead me in a study of prophecy that was both practical and theoretical. But where was this maze going? I was impatient to get to the end of it already.

Slowly, shifts in my understanding did begin to occur. A greater revelation of HIM…I was beginning to “get it”. The Lord wants us to know personally of His love for us. Prophecy is yet another avenue for this. Kent has often spoken of the evangelical implications of personal prophecy: “You need to know who He is, yes,” he said, “But you also need to know that He knows who you are and where you live.” An accurate prophetic word flows in and from His love; He shows how well He knows us, and we are drawn closer to HIM. This word I had received was beginning to “take effect” in that I loved to seek Him all the more.

There was much to glean from Kent’s ministry. The April 2008 CD arrived: “Revelation to Manifestation”. At first I found it difficult to concentrate on the teaching; always there would be distractions and dead ends. It wasn’t due to anything unclear in Kent’s mode of speech; rather, it was due to the buzz of doctrinal “static” in my soul.

Yet finally the light dawned. Kent spoke of a “wall between the spirit man and the soul” and explained how we mistakenly depend on the soul to provide answers to our problems. Yes, even as a Christian, I had been “figuring things out” myself with only my soul and a Bible for years. I had not truly sought the Lord in Spirit to spirit communication.Kent continued: “But when the answers come from Spirit to spirit communication, it is revelation, the communication of the knowledge of God to the soul.” The Lord “did not just die, leave us a book and put us in charge.” I finally realized I had always lived this way. Kent’s next comment neatly summed up my 45+ years of church experience: “We are supposed to live as ones led by the spirit, but we are not as sensitive to the spirit man as we should be.”

How true! I needed “revelation” in my life in order to walk by the spirit, and now I knew revelation was available in HIM. Why had He started up all this in my life, so suddenly, and where was it all going? Did He want me to do all this study because I had a prophetic gift, or should I just relax and enjoy hearing Him better? Why, why, why? Perhaps my soulish understanding had caused me to block something in my prophetic word. I sought harder for some clue to my next step. Back to the CD player again. I prayed for more revelation. Was there a hidden message in it? A clue I missed? Wasn’t this word almost too simple after all? I wrote the prophetic word out. I nearly memorized it. And yes, I was tempted at times to doubt it.

Still it seemed He kept leading me back to this CD, and I would listen to it for the umpteenth time. Then one day I noticed something on the CD label which startled me and triggered a memory…Only the Lord could have known the effect this would have…An insight came to me as a revelation, and a very significant piece of the puzzle it would indeed turn out to be…Better stop here. Will chat again next week, Lord willing.

Hello dear sister in Christ,

My name is Sarah and I emailed you around January, I hope you can remember.

You replied back to me after you prayed for me and you prophesied to me and part of your prophecy said that i will continue to study and work to make enough money to buy the things i want. I just want to say that your prophecy has come true. I am continuing my studies “Graphics Design” and i am also working a bit in a Graphics Design creative artist area. I had literally given up my studies and lost the passion for them and some time last week or week before something happened to me. I just woke up and i looked at my books and picked them up. I just said my God i really want to study right now! i just gained the feeling and passion for my studies again out of no where! it just came back into my heart that one day!!! really amazing how God did that.

God bless you for your true words from the Lord. All the praise goes to the Lord.

“When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying: “This is My Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Matthew 3:16

God’s Favorite Game

Sister Ty Boye

You may have not realized it, but God’s favorite game is Hide-n-Seek. For starters, before you were born again, you were lost, right? However, when He found you, His blood cleansed you and all your sins were washed away by the watering of His Word. Being as you have now been tagged, in God’s “game”, you are “It”. If you have ever played the game Hide-n-Seek, you know that once you have been tagged, it is your turn to go find Him.

Metaphorically, this is where most of us quit playing the game. It feels as if God has left us, only He has just hidden Himself from us and is waiting to be found. Not knowing what to do, we stand around all alone wondering what has just happened. Still living off the excitement of being saved, set free, and delivered from eternal damnation, we hunger for more of this addictive love of God. We received all this wonderful blessing from above just by receiving the touch of God.

Wanting more of this new life and desperately wanting to relive the born again experience, we go to the only place we know that He may possibly be found. So we start going to the local church waiting to be touched by God. Finally, after a few weeks, we learn that we are to be baptized in water. This is the baptism of repentance, also referred to as the baptism of John, found in the Book of Acts, Chapter 19. The formidable and very important act of water baptism is to show all that we too have been tagged by God.

Now maybe you have joined the church and have been baptized but still are waiting for the same experience you had when you were first found by God and transformed into this new person. However, everything just seems to be a list of doctrinal protocol that you are to keep religiously in order to maintain your membership. Still waiting on the touch of God, you are doing everything that you are taught, but now you’re starting to lose the freedom you experienced when you were first tagged by God. When He touched you, the chains of sin that once held you down instantly fell off and you were free. Now, you are slowly putting on a new set of chains that in some ways are heavier than the old ones. They are not ugly, but in fact very acceptable to society, for all Christians seem to be wearing them while smiling and acting as if everything is just grand. But on the inside questions are beginning to swell, and doubt and disbelief are creeping in. The first time trouble shows up on your door step, your life turns into a mess. Going to the leaders of the church for their help, you are counseled as they pull out their Holy Bible and begin to use the sword of God’s Word to dissect you to find out what has gone wrong. After much confession, you await the diagnosis. Finally it is revealed as they announce that you still have sin in your life and THAT is the problem. Bewildered within yourself, you go back to that day you were tagged by God. You know that you were saved from your deadly sins. So who are you to go to now in order to find the answers to your problem?

Jesus is the answer and always has been the answer, but where is He? That is where you need someone who has been playing Hide-n-Seek with God for many years. His hiding places are many and forever changing. Only those who have an ear to hear know where He can be found. That is why I am here, to help you find Him.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33

I think I might be called to be a prophet.

What do I do?

by Sandy Landry

An important verse to remember is “Many are called, but few are chosen.” There is a responsibility if you are called and you want to be chosen. By called, we might mean a number of things. You could have “heard” things from God since you were a child, or suddenly you have developed an intense interest in prophesy. Maybe you felt a specific call, or you just want to learn to hear God. Each of us has a different story. But if we are faithful to do as He asks, to take the time to understand His voice and His ways, and we develop the character we will need as we face the trials and overcome the battles that will come to us, we advance.

I have heard of prophets, like Patricia King, who just decided to learn to prophesy and “practiced” on everyone, or a prophet like Kent Simpson, who started hearing God as a boy. A set of circumstances and “mysterious” events, led Tyane Boye into her call. There is never a cookie cutter method for anything, but what does remain the same is that God will ordain the training and test the calling to see if He wants to set a prophet into an Office of Prophet where others will recognize the gift and trust in the words he or she gives. It is not an easy road, but if it were, everyone would be a prophet, right? If it is a road you feel called to go down, His grace is sufficient if you are willing.

For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.      ~ Rev. 19:10b

Prophecy is the testimony that Jesus is not dead but Alive and Speaking to you and I.
Kent Simpson,
Prophetic Pastor

Hi Kent,

Just wanted to touch base and say thank you once again for all of the prophetic words in mine and Steve’s lives. The words from God have helped so much when we are going through difficult times and I am one to attest to the fact that there is a process to a word from God. I am about to listen to the word again about the land and I see now that it is a process and it has to be. From what I remember from the word it was said that God was waiting on these things to be uncovered. Well, it’s coming to pass and I see more than ever that it is all a process and I’ve often wanted it to happen right away, but God has a plan and a reason for waiting and His ways are not our ways. Somehow He works all of these things out to bless many people in the end.

The things came to pass about my father. When I really turned it over to God (just this past week), the next day I received an unexpected phone call telling me that my father was buried in a National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida and it gave me so much peace that God took care of everything, it also showed me that only when I REALLY put it all in His Hands that He can answer the prayer. I feel that I have reached a new level of faith and it’s all really just depending on God completely, that’s where I’ve been missing it.

God bless you all,
Lisa

Dear Brother Kent,

Thank you so much for the CD. It really blessed me and you were right on…the news to me is getting married…WOW!

Just wanted to tell you that the Lord sure gave you a good looking wife. I bet she is a sweet heart.

Danke Schön for your time,

Chapter 4: Soaking in HIM

The Sunday TYM.E.S. (Meditations, Encouragement, and Sharpening in Him)

Dear Readers,

Sister Ty Boye

Hello, again, and welcome to Chapter 4. In this chapter you will see that learning to obey the Lord and walk in the Spirit upset my daily life as He challenged me to take steps of faith which were new and “daring”. All of the ingrained fears, prejudices, and religious habits of decades began to surface. It was almost as if the Lord was turning over these rocks in the garden of my mind, exposing the vermin. As I began to listen to Him and just do the simple things He asked, the beetles went scurrying. By His Grace He is the great pest Exterminator! I hope this story will be an encouragement to those of you who are similarly in process of learning to obey Him, turning over the doubts, fears and patterns of a lifetime to the Lord.

You will also see in this chapter how the Lord reminded me of important past events which years of soulish activity had blocked. The Holy Spirit as Counselor was there on the scene, bringing up long forgotten pieces of the puzzle and revealing how the Lord had been intimately involved in my life all along. Sandy Landry and I are working on a book which will recount the fascinating stories that were almost buried and forgotten before the Lord stepped in to revive them. I am confident that:

“He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Philippians 1:6

However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and he will tell you things to come.”

John 16:13

Praise HIM,

As last week’s episode came to a close, I stood in the hall holding a pink time bomb, Dr. Hamon’s Prophets and Personal Prophecy: GOD’s Prophetic Voice Today. What happened next makes me blush a little. Brisk footsteps echoed in the hall; it was my husband, JR! Afraid of being “caught” in possession of this “radical” book, I ducked into the bathroom. Reading ravenously, I opted for a longer than usual stay. In fact, I drew a bubble bath and spent several hours, well, soaking and turning pages.

My fear of detection really had nothing to do with JR personally! It had everything to do with years of being MIStaught about those “crazy” charismatics and their “questionable” practices. In retrospect, I had hidden my real heart and suppressed my very real questions for many years. At 27, I had secretly begun speaking in tongues and then let the gift lie dormant it because it did not fit with churches I attended. At one service, a Pentecostal pastor had prayed and laid hands on me in 1983. I felt an electric shock and subsequently prayed for the gift of prophecy. I kept it to myself, thinking my prayer had been just a sentimental gesture. Wasn’t prophecy just an antiquated gift that had long since passed from view now that we had Jesus?? Still, there was no getting around it; in a very serious prayer, I HAD ASKED for the gift of prophecy. I told no one, because there was nothing to tell. Nothing happened that I could see. Life went on, and I forgot all about it.

So you see, I had kept secrets before, and thought it best to do so again, so as not to be talked out of my “extremism” before I knew enough to defend the supernatural experience that started it all. (Today, 2/13/12, as JR marched off to work with a copy of The Beginner’s Guide to the Gift of Prophecy under his arm, I wonder at the Great Awakening the Lord has wrought in our lives in a few short years.)

The Calgon bubble bath escapes went on night after night. Dr. Hamon had written other books, and during the frequent “soaking” sessions, I read them eagerly! As a violin teacher, I had always enjoyed introducing tiny children to the excitement of the sight, sound, touch, and even smell of the violin. The music would stir a part of their soul and broaden their capacities of appreciation of the world around them. Now it felt as if I was a kid again, beginning to enjoy the Lord on a whole new level.

At that point in time, I was unaware of any churches in Silicon Valley which recognized prophetic ministry. It seemed too far to travel far to link up with another believer on the same “wave length”. So I resumed surfing. One site, and then another, would catch my eye. I would compose a long letter of explanation about who I was and what had happened. Suddenly I would feel “wrong”, knowing the Lord was not in it, and I would stop abruptly and delete the email. Still I prayed for His leading, knowing that when He presented the right door, I would “know” it.

Finally, in mid-April, I revisited the Prophetic Ministries Tabernacle site with the kindly looking man and his church “outside the box”. It was on this visit that I began to reflect on the similarities between Kent’s ministry and “the way the Lord had led us” up to this hour. JR and I had spent 28 years of involved in a large television ministry, and so the idea of community beyond the four walls of a local church was not new.

I read his statement of faith and approved his motto: “Pray. Hear. Obey.” So simple and yet profound. Was I following it? “Pray”? Yes, check; prayer life had come alive again! “Hear”? Check! That was beginning to happen more and more, praise HIM! “Obey”? Hmm. I was beginning to discover this “obedience to the faith” I had read about in Romans 1:5 had been seriously lacking!! Thank God for His grace.

Kent gave permission to “tell all” in this column, so I will. If it bores you to read these financial items, just skip the next few paragraphs. Yes, on my first visits to the PMT site, I wondered how Kent’s ministry was supported. What would the hourly rate for an Ezekiel or an Isaiah be, anyway? Could I afford a prophecy? It was thus that Kent’s teaching section on “Giving an Offering” caught my eye:

Giving an Offering for a Word

Though a prophet may receive a monetary blessing when giving a person a word from God, he is not to be mistaken for a hireling. A prophet who is a hireling will give a false prophecy at the request of a supporter for monetary gain.

In contrast to these false prophets, there are men of God who desire to only speak God’s words and to reveal God’s plans for the people. These men receive their spiritual blessing from God and their financial blessing from God’ people…

Then Saul said to his servant, “But look, if we go, WHAT SHALL WE BRING THE MAN? For the bread in our vessels is all gone, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God. What do we have?” I Samuel 9:7

Then Saul’s servant said, “Look, I have here at hand one fourth of a shekel of silver. I will give that to the man of God, to tell us our way.” I Samuel 9:8

In this and other scriptures throughout the Bible, God has shown us that we must support his prophets. These men of old had conviction that they must bless the prophet, Samuel, for his intercession.

I was impressed with this for several reasons. First, it coincided closely with what I already believed about valuing the Word of God. We had always practiced rendering material things for spiritual according to I Corinthians 9:11 and Galatians 6:6-8. We had always paid to obtain a copy of my local pastor’s sermon each week. I’d just bought an anointed pink book by Bill Hamon. How was a donation for a prophetic word any different? Surely many would criticize Mr. Simpson for asking for a donation up front, but I was fully anticipating a fee much greater than $30.

Secondly, I respected Kent’s stance against religious hypocrisy. As a professional violinist, I had experienced the dilemmas of operating in a God-given gift for which church people had trouble assigning a monetary value. For example, a church once hired me to teach Saturday music lessons to paying students, but afterward ruled that my musical gift was a ministry, therefore I was not to be paid. So I understood the issues over receiving money for operating in a gift. Musicians and artists of all kinds have always had it hard. It seemed to me that prophets must be in the same boat.

Thirdly, in the natural, my Italian heritage had trained me never to show up at someone’s home without an “offering”- a bottle of wine or a loaf of bread, whatever. An offering was a similar expression of honor and respect. The passage which Kent quoted from I Samuel reflected an attitude of respect for a man of God.

Well, all that to say I had no fear of being “fleeced”.

BUT as I sat at the computer with the Holy Spirit prodding me to request a prophecy, I still stewed inwardly. This man Kent talked the talk of a seasoned prophet. Why make it “easy” on him by spilling my guts in a lengthy introductory email? No sirree! I dismissed my previous ideas of giving a long preamble of explanation. There wasn’t room on the submission form anyway. If this guy was a real-deal prophet of the Lord, the Lord would spell it out to Him. The Lord knew my desperation…I wanted “confirmation” of the veracity of my supernatural experiences; I wanted details known only to the Lord! I expected a blow-by-blow account of my fantastic life adventures. I entertained fabulous ideas of how the prophecy might outline the next five years of my life, how Kent would hear strategies of how to get the rest of my family saved, how this word would kick off an extraordinary phase of spiritual growth and local church revival. Also, I craved answers on a REALLY pressing personal problem! Surely the Lord would zero in on that area first, I reasoned. I prayed earnestly that the Lord would use this prophetic word to confirm what He most wanted me to know.

Looking back, “I wanted” a lot!! Thank God for His mercy and generous grace! At least it may be said that I prayed in full expectation of a powerful word from the Lord.

Finally I filled out the form, clicked “submit” and breathed a sigh of relief. The struggle over whether or not to contact a prophet was over. Obedience was exhausting!! Entrenched religious tradition, the religious spirit, fought hard with every sophisticated argument to convince me that only zany, gullible folks really believe this stuff. Even after my experiences (see Chapter One), there was constant doubt. I record this truth hopefully to help some who have similar trouble trusting that the Lord is actively leading and guiding them as they take steps to pray and know Him better.

Yes, for me at that time, just simply to obey His direction and order a prophetic word constituted a huge step and statement of faith. The Lord had told me to trust HIM, and that is what I was doing. Rereading the New Testament with new eyes, I now viewed the operations of prophecy, visions and dreams as basic bread and butter for the Christian. By sending for the prophecy, I had affirmed: YES, prophecy is for real; YES, it DOES exist in the church today; and YES, I am open to however the Lord wants to speak His will and His heart to me.

A couple of weeks later, a thin padded mailer arrived in my mailbox.

I opened it, and with trepidation, tore open the CD case. Anxiously I gave the CD a spin. Kent’s voice boomed out as he mispronounced my name with a bit of a backwoods drawl. This California girl chuckled nervously, but what I heard next shattered my cool. It was to replay countless times over the course of the next weeks; the words were so totally ….

Time to go; will pick up here next time, Lord willing.

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Romans 10:17

Dear Ty,

Thank you so much. I receive this word in Jesus name. I’m praying for clarity and discernment as I enter in this new season in my life. I’m thankful for your newsletter as well, I find it very encouraging and it complements Kent’s ministry well. God bless you sister and all you touch in Jesus name, amen. There is “new wine” fermenting at the moment and it will pour into and from you soon.

Blessings always,
Tim

Dear Sister Tye,

I can’t tell you how much of a blessing you have been to me. You have confirmed a word to me that was given many many years ago. Exactly even on Abrahamic word in faith. I have a few friends that are close to me, that feel something may or may not be of God in my life. That in their opinion type and then there is something The Lord spoke many many years ago to me in a situation.

I have gone back and forth and to be honest, I have looked more at the circumstances then I have resting in The Lord. Because this is a test and surely requires Abrahamic faith to believe in The Lords way and answer then of my friends opinions and circumstance. The word you shared with me gives me peace to rest in The Lord to have him do as he said and not to my circumstance. I got ahead of The Lord and feel I have caused a bit of a mess..My friend I have in my life is no longer speaking to me and now there has been a breaking of communication. I know I must put it in his hands to work out and leave it there and rest in The Lord.

Thank you so much for the time you have always taken to pray for me and bless me. I am going to donate a love offering to your ministry. You are such a blessing.

Thank you so much and May The Lord richly bless you and your ministry.

Cheryl
“But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled, which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.”
James 2:20-23

Small Talk With God

Kent Simpson & Pastor Gary Langley

There were many times during my early childhood that I recall lying in my small twin bed and within my thoughts, I would talk to God. As I remember, every time I asked Him a question, He would answer me with another question. This forced me to stop and think, and I would always receive from Him more than just the answer to my question. With the knowledge I received from the question He asked, I would gain understanding about His wisdom.

For example: one night as I lay awake, unable to sleep, I asked God: “Why did you make feet so ugly?” In just a second or two, He answered me with this question: “How would you have made them?” As I struggled with how I would make feet, I became frustrated that all my thoughts generated around objects that had already been made. Chicken feet, horse hooves, and bear paws were coming to my mind as I began imagining how I would have made human feet. Finally, I just wore my little brain out and fell asleep. What I learned was this: nothing is new under the Sun. All that can be created is already here. Also, His answer to my question led me to understand His wisdom, that everything that He has created is beautiful, and that anything else to replace it would only bear the mark of a counterfeit.

This reminds me of the story of three scientists who decided that they were smart enough to create a man. They came to the brilliant conclusion that all they needed was to obtain some dirt from various parts of the world. As they stood before all the different mounds of soil, preparing to make a human, God spoke: “OH, NO! You make your own dirt!”

Even the simplest of things in life cannot be recreated without God. However, when His Word abides within us, we can make anything we may have need of appear out of thin air, if we will only believe.

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

Mark 11:22-24

Can any Christian prophesy?

Yes. Paul says that we should all desire the gift of prophecy and that when we are in a congregation, that we can all prophesy, we should just be orderly and take turns. If that is true, why don’t we see more of it?

First, we aren’t taught this. Either we have been taught to question the validity of the gift, or that it belongs to a special “few.” There is a difference between hearing a word from God (prophecy) and being called to be a prophet. Learning to hear God and to speak on His behalf is a birthright as a believer, but the calls on our lives, are God’s choices. The fact that we are encouraged to ask for the gift of prophecy, is significant. Imagine a world where believers heard God and spoke His words rather than their own opinions and thoughts. We should all ask to hear Him and we should dedicate ourselves to understanding the ways in which He speaks so that we can encourage each other. His words have life and stir faith. It is His words that move mountains.

Comments and Testimonies

Prophetic Pastor

Hey Kent,

This is how Sterling responded to your word; well the one you gave him when he was 6years old. He had never heard it until I sent it to him right after this last word that he received last week from you. Here is a copy of the letter that he sent Tommie (our niece).

Vicky, Your Sister-n-law

Tommie,

What’s going on girl? How have you been?

Life for me for the last couple of days has been very nice. I have felt uplifted and it effects my day substantially. I work better when I am feeling good and I feel physically less tired, which in turn makes me feel even better. It is a glorious cycle that I go through every now and then until I feel that I am going to burst with pure joy. Then something will happen that bums me out and I go back to normal but at that point it has to be something real bad to bring me down or a whole lot of little bad things. Right now my happiness meter is soaring through the clouds. God is blessing me left and right and I cannot praise him enough.

I got my first word of prophecy that I received as a six-year-old child, my mother sent it to me on paper. I cried like a baby reading it. Literally balled. If only I could be the man that was mentioned on that piece of paper. Now I want to strive for more. I had been telling myself that I have already grown a lot since coming out here and I can take it easy for a while, but now I say “No!” God has a plan for me to be much more and I will battle, fight, and endure until I become that man. I declare to you now Tommie, I will be that man. Whether it takes me 10 years, 20 years, 30 years. I will not stop growing as an individual until God wills it.

Thank you for listening. I needed to say said that or think it or write it or whatever. Out here in Afghanistan I am not fighting or battling. This step in my life calls for me to endure. To endure, as I have found, is not an easy thing to do. It is definitely something that I have really never had to do before now. It has forced me to make great leaps in patience and has improved my work ethic. I am taking everything this sorry place has to offer me. I am taking the money that it offers and the nice marks on my resume that comes along with it, but it is the other things I am taking away from Afghanistan that I am most proud of. There are things that I have previously mentioned like patience and work ethic as well as others. Such as the ability to not take things for granted. Simple things like family that I have always taken for granted. Levi has once told me that I have been brainwashed into believing that the family needs to stay together. I do not believe the family needs to stay together; I just simply want us to. There are no other people in the world I would rather sit down with and just talk. Being out here you realize the true value in having a family like that. Just talking with people out here I see how blessed my life is. How much of a fairy tale I have been living. I have not had to face hardships. I have not had to face true adversity. I have not had to endure anything. My life has been one blessing after another and I have always thought this is just how it was for everyone. I think I am beginning to see the gifts that GOD has given me. My lord and savior keeps me up on a joyful high so that I may bring others up with me. I saw it in pathways but I thought it was some kind of fluke. The lord has been slowly revealing it to me and I honestly have not totally realized it until composing this email. (this has taken me multiple days to write this) I have often called mom and told her that I was feeling so happy that it was freaking me out. I told her that it didn’t feel sane or natural. I now believe that maybe it isn’t natural. Maybe I get happiness attacks from GOD. As I have told my mother when it happens I feel like joy is literally boiling inside me and my actions alone are not enough to release it. I look to share it with others and have them ride the wave of happiness and laughter with me. This I have learned through enduring. I had to stop demanding answers from GOD and just patiently listen for him to tell me whatever he wants to tell me.

Tommie, good things happen to people who wait. Slow your thinking down. Slow down and take a breath. This is an important time in your life right now. Running around like a chicken with her head cut off will get you to places you don’t want to go. Now is the time to stop and listen.

Love You,
Your Cuz,
Sterling

Matthew 10:41

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

Chapter 3: Life on His Terms, or How I Became a Surfer Mom

The Sunday TYM.E.S. (Meditations, Encouragement, and Sharpening in Him)

Dear Readers,https://www.propheticministries.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/ty-boye.jpg” alt=”” width=”200″ height=”213″ class=”size-full img-responsive” /> Sister Ty Boye[/caption]
Greetings, again, and welcome to Chapter 3 of the story of how the Lord led me into prophetic ministry at the advanced age of 52. If you are joining us for the first time, please feel free to email me at TextHisWord@gmail.com, and I would be happy to forward the first two chapters of this story which appeared in the past two weeks’ newsletters.

Someone mentioned to me that these stories do not include much personal detail about my life. There is a reason for that. Sandy Landry is in the process of writing a book which will recount my adventures before the point at which this narrative begins. To say much more would definitely be a “spoiler” to her efforts; so please understand I am trying to write more about the process of learning to hear Him than about the secret life of a middle-aged violin teacher.

Anyway, the star of this show is the Lord. Without Him, we can do nothing. (John 15:5) I can truly say, based on years of experience, He really does know how to relate to all of us where we are, taking into account who we are and how we tick. He wants to show us who He we are in HIM and what is HIS best purpose for us. And He most assuredly will reveal Himself in a way we can understand when we truly seek Him with all our hearts.

As this installment will chronicle, He loves to “mess with our minds” and disrupt our patterns of logic…and He is quick to aid us when we fully turn to Him and admit our need. And His Spirit transforms us faster than usual when He has our undivided attention, though as we know it can be a bumpy ride.

My prayer for you is a fresh hunger for HIM and a deeper relationship than ever with Him today while it is still called today!

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Romans 12: 2

Praise HIM,
Sister TY

Life on His Terms, or How I Became a Surfer Mom

For those of you who have been waiting to hear what the strange smiling man said, he said, “Good morning, princess.” Bleary eyed, in my baggy black coat, at 7:00 am on a Saturday morning, I definitely did not feel like the tiara-type Barbie glamour doll. But it was a strange and thrilling confirmation of the words I had heard earlier from the Lord. I was finding the King will remind us of who we are, if we seek Him. It was through many such “coincidences” that the Lord graciously began to demonstrate the great lengths He would go to confirm His words to me.

In the few months that followed, I obsessed to know “why?” and “what next?” Why had these things happened? As the dust settled, and the shock diminished, I wanted direction. Not accustomed to receiving His direct help, I reverted to my usual ways of finding things out. God had used them before….why not again? At the time, I had an ingrained faith in consulting pastoral wisdom and reading books, so I resorted to these two avenues of help.

Rev. had known me for a few years, and we were on friendly terms. He was a great student of the word, an Ivy League man. Had he ever heard of anything like this before? To my surprise, Rev. did indeed know pastors who had received words and had encounters. But the end of the matter was clear in his mind. He held up his leather bound Bible and said, “In the end, this is all the word of God that we need.” And that was that. I bear him no grudge. I had myself been reading the Bible for over 40 years at that point. I love reading the Scriptures. But I simply HAD to find someone to talk to who would tell me what to do when the written word comes to you as an audible word, or as a vision, and when you start to hear things more frequently, and so on… so I continued my quest. I felt like Jim Carrey’s character in “The Truman Show” who suddenly comes to the realization that all his life he has been lied to, and that there has to be more.

My generation sought knowledge from books, not electronic media, so I prowled around for books on the subject of visions. There was a large bookstore in town called “East-West”. To read the posters in the windows, it would seem these New Age folks would love the chance to discuss personal encounters and visions with me. I was frustrated enough to consider it. But the Lord made it clear this was not the place to seek the answers. By contrast, the local Christian bookstores in Silicon Valley had closed or gone out of business.

The public library was likewise of no help, though I did spend time browsing the stacks there. I knew one of the research librarians personally. Another reason not to seek the answers there. I wanted to preserve my privacy on this, just in case it turned out that I was in a mild state of self delusion. Even after all I had been through, I was plagued with doubts. The enemy did suggest the whole thing was just one pathetic midlife crisis. Yet in my time with the Lord, I knew this was no lie, but something real and special.

My home Christian library consisted of Tozer, Spurgeon, Hudson Taylor, C.S. Lewis and on and on. I was an OLD-fashioned girl. There was nothing on my book shelves to suggest that any more revelation was needed beside these saints’ memoirs and the Bible. (In fairness, later upon rereading many of these books with new eyes, I found much supernatural content I’d missed on the first reading.)

With no help from pastoral or bookish knowledge, I started surfing. How ironic, this surfer mom had once criticized her son for spending hours on the computer….Yes, it was my time to SURF, and I began by ineptly typing out long questions in the Google search, such as “what do you do if you experience a dream or a prophecy or a vision”. Right away, I discovered that “personal prophecy” was the term for what I’d experienced. Lots of condemnatory sites came up, laced with strict warnings from knowledgeable Christians to avoid “dabbling” in personal prophecies and spurious revelatory activities. Many Christian sites insisted that prophecy for the Christian should be confined to “Bible” Prophecy. I finally learned what “cessationism” meant. The Lord was at least beginning to acquaint me with a bit of needed terminology.

Spring of 2008 had not yet witnessed the huge proliferation of online Christian prophetic sites which we have now. So in my searches I frequently encountered psychedelic New Age sites with angels, starbursts, feathers, and flowing robes. Although I dismissed the New Age, suddenly the prospect of these phenomena did not seem so ridiculous to me as they had in an earlier time. Funny how the perspective changes when you have an experience with the spirit realm.

On one search, the Elijah List surfaced, with its alphabetical directory of prophets. Where to begin? I scrolled down through the ABC’s and shook my head in despair. This could take forever to sort through, and I needed help NOW from someone trustworthy. Continually I prayed for direction. Surfing often led to more questions than answers.

By late March I was exhausted. Three months had gone by, and I had been seeking HIM-it seemed- night and day. I sat on the couch in the early afternoon, crying and at the end of my rope. I could not figure this thing out. Why? Why me? Why now? Why didn’t HE just appear again, since He did it once, and spell out what was next? What was I supposed to DO!? I hungered-badly-for answers. I engaged in a very “fervent” interchange with our Lord. Yes, it seemed He was not answering me as fast as I thought He should. The enemy came in dumping the usual loads of self-pity and hopelessness and mockery. After crying for hours, praise the Lord, a peace arrived. His peace. Nothing had changed and I didn’t hear any words in my spirit. But it felt different now, as I was given the faith to believe He is far more sincerely interested in honest communication than I could ever be. I rested in HIM.

Funny, in the next two weeks He introduced me to a pastor and to a book that provided a fresh wave of comfort and encouragement from Him.

On my next surfing expedition I googled “Prophetic Ministry”, and Kent Simpson’s site for “Prophetic Ministries Tabernacle” popped up first. Over the next few days, I visited it again and again. The simplicity and straightforwardness of the presentation intrigued me. No psychedelic bells and whistles here. I clicked on Kent’s teachings and read about how God sometimes plays “Hide and Seek”. Right, I thought, that’s exactly how it feels. This kindly looking person depicted on the home page, sitting on a couch, apparently in conversation: might he be someone that would listen and understand and even be able to offer guidance? I hesitated to write in, yet found myself revisiting the site to stare at the picture and wonder if this would be the needed connection with a real prophet.

Surfing again, I was led to a bright pink edition of a book called Personal Prophecy written by someone named Bill Hamon. Hours of topic-related surfing later, I was amazed….So there had been a whole prophetic movement in the church, beginning in 1988?? Hamon supposedly was one of the granddaddies of the movement. How had I missed this? How was it the Lord had done all this without telling anyone-or so I thought?? I guessed He was telling me now, `a la Amos 3:7.

Finally the book arrived in the usual brown cardboard. It felt as if I was holding a bright pink time bomb. I waited all through my work day until I had a little time to myself, and then…

Tune in next time!

Tyane,

Thank you so very much for the prophetic word. It truly is a wonderful birthday gift from God!

Just prior to receiving this word from you I had been reviewing the past decade in my mind and, knowing that the dream symbol for 40 is ‘wilderness’ or ‘a time of testing’, I had been feeling as though I lived my entire 40s during this time of testing, during this ‘dark night of the soul’. But I also knew that 50 is symbolic for ‘jubilee’. I prayed that God would literally use the word ‘jubilee’ in this prophetic word through you — and He did! I just didn’t realize what that would actually entail for me. I am genuinely looking forward to this year!

So much of what you said is so very true —

Thanks again,
Linda

“Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.”

Amos 3:7

Prophesy His Will

Kent Simpson & Pastor Gary Langley

When we start out with prayer and it turns into prophesy God’s will is being proclaimed on earth as it is in heaven. This method of prayer always brings results. Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus taught us how to pray that we may find His will and His words to say; this is the Christian way. To pray is to seek God for His will and His word for the situation. Once we begin to experience His words, unction, visions and whatever way He so chooses to reveal His will.

In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:9, 10

When we begin to speak out His word His Angels are commanded to do His will on earth as it has been proclaimed in heaven. You may not have ever thought about it this way but this is what happens when you begin to prophesy His will that you received when you prayed. Scripture indicates His Angels immediately are sent out to do His will as it has been proclaimed in heaven and then prophesied on earth.

Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word.
Psalms 103:20

In the New Testament alone there are many stories of Christians miraculously encountering Angels of the Lord. I guessing that you may be in need of one or more of God’s Angels working a few miracles in your life too. Let’s us reason with one another and find God’s will for your needs through prayer and prophesy.

Why doesn’t God just tell me what He wants?

Why does He tell a prophet instead?

by Sandy Landry

There are several reasons that prophets are sometimes used to confirm, encourage, and direct your course. The first and foremost is that God intends us to be a body, not independent. We very often enjoy our independence. If we could, many of us would try to do it all by ourselves. So learning to rely on each other is important.

Respecting the gifting of others and encouraging them is important to each of us, and regardless of our gifting we have each discovered that. Whether we teach, or serve, pastor, or prophesy, each of us knows the joy of being a help to the body.

Prophets are “obsessed” with learning to hear God, and they are fulfilled when we take advantage of the price they have paid to hear Him. We honor the body and the Father when we submit to the gifts in each other and are blessed by them. Listening to the words of a prophet are part of how we navigate. It was never meant to become our crutch: the only way we have to hear God. We need to be open to the many ways in which He speaks, and through His prophets is one of the ways we may seek His voice.

Matthew 10:41

Chapter 2: Shock and Awe (of the Lord)

The Sunday TYM.E.S. (Meditations, Encouragement, Sharpening in HIM)

Dear Readers,

Sister Ty Boye

Greetings, again! For those who have been waiting to hear what the Lord spoke in my spirit at about 4 am, January 8, 2008, the answer will be found below. Hearing His words finally allowed me to rest and even get a little sleep. Incidentally, there was no chapter and verse attached to what I heard! However I was to learn His rhema words were not without Scriptural parallel. Some weeks later, the Holy Spirit quickened to me I Chronicles 20:20: “Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe HIS prophets, and you shall prosper.”

Today’s chapter will deal with an intense season of “Fear of the Lord”. It was a season of confession and repentance that lasted for weeks. This heightened awareness of His righteous awesomeness settled in quite strongly after the initial shock of hearing HIM through another in a powerful way. I was at once shocked by a sense of the nearness of God and awed at His grace in showing Himself to me. Like the proverbial ostrich with its head in the sand, I was totally unaware of anything like this vision occurring in modern history! The traditional church had not prepared me to believe something like this could happen to me, a simple “lay member”. Was I ever in for an education!

But before that education would begin, my heart was in for a major overhaul; confession and repentance were WAY overdue! The realization hit that I had spent much of my Christian life trying to figure Him out, imposing my limits on what He could and could not do, and what He would and would not say. In doing so, I had put Him in a box and shut the lid (with only an occasional peek inside) for well over 40 years of my Christian experience. This was serious. I had seriously grieved HIM. I trembled to think I hadn’t really known Him, not in this way, for many years. Thank the Lord HIS sheep can hear His voice!

My prayer is that you are comforted by this story, by the truth that- thank the Lord! – HE never tires of seeking an opening into our soul. It felt as if the vision had cracked my soul open, and as I grabbed hold of Him with a fingernail of faith, He pushed the door even more open. How He loves us! And how His goodness leads us to repentance! (Rom. 2:4)!

Praise HIM,
Ty

“And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.”
I Corinthians 14:25

Shock and Awe (of the Lord)

“So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses! Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”

Exodus 3:4-6

For those of you who are newly joining us for this week’s “episode”, please feel free to request the January 29th email to catch you up. Again, my intention here is NOT to present a “how-to manual” for hearing His voice, but simply to relate the testimony of how the Lord shook me out of a listless Christianity into a closer walk with Him.

To summarize briefly: after an old friend I will call “Pat” received a vision which deeply concerned me personally, I found myself confused and overwhelmed with questions. Lying awake late at night, shaking physically, I fell into a deep state of “shock” that the Lord would actually deal with me in such a dramatic way. It was toward morning that a word of comfort came. It was then that I heard the Lord say: “Believe him and trust ME.”

To hear this so clearly was reassuring, and finally I got a little rest. I believed Pat had really heard Him, and now my part was to TRUST the Lord to lead me through the next steps.

Over the next few weeks, it was tiring and yet wonderful, every night dozing off then waking up continuously, being drawn into deeper prayer and questioning as to the Lord’s purpose in revealing Himself. A heavy blanket fell on me of what I can only call: “Fear of the Lord”. Pat and I became prayer partners and deeply confessed many things which we now knew had grieved the Lord but which we had allowed to continue during our many years of dry Christianity. Pat attended a liturgical church. I was involved in a more “seeker-sensitive” ministry. I tried to discuss what had happened with my prayer group, but most were skeptical. One lady tried to “help” me by telling me the Lord would not operate in this way. Despairing of getting any insight from fellow church members, I decided just to accept this experience like a child and let go of doubt and reason. I needed just to let the Lord speak. Didn’t Scripture relate that this kind of thing had happened to others in the past? I determined to keep my ears open, waiting for Him to say something else. Anyway…He had told me to “trust HIM”, right? I began to realize that my natural instinct was to try almost anything except “trust HIM.” I had a lot to learn. (Still do!)

The truth is He didn’t say much for a while, but my feelings as I came before Him were gushing in every direction. Joy, amazement, freedom–yes, but also sorrow and penitence for so long treating Him like an absent Father who didn’t care. The more I prayed and examined my past in the light and awareness of His Presence, the more He showed me the true implications of my self-directed life-style. Though to others I probably looked like the model of work ethic, thoughtfulness, and faithfulness in worship attendance and participation, when it came right down to it, I was an expert in figuring out God’s plans for me and acting on my own direction. I never liked to wait to hear from Him personally as I went about my daily work. Not really. I was smart and always thought I knew enough Scripture to know how to plot my next move.

In prayer, in this new season, I would feel the air around me as saturated or heavy. There seemed to be no hiding from HIM anymore. I was more aware than ever before of my need for a Savior! There was such a lot of repentin’ to do. First off, I had always criticized and complained about Pat! We confessed various areas of unresolved anger and bitterness to one another and prayed. We held nothing back. In fact, just when we thought the period of repentance was over, after about 3 weeks, I heard in my spirit, “Pat is still holding something back,” and sure enough, this was true. We both repented some more, and Pat experienced a supernatural healing of a long-time health issue. So THIS was confession and repentance, a real James 5:16 experience! The Holy Spirit was intent on initiating total inner healing in both of us.

Little did we know that this confession and repentance was only the first “layer of the onion”. The transparency was an exhilarating response to the Lord’s Presence. Coming into His presence is always accompanied by the AWE of a pure and righteous and loving and gracious God and by an awareness of our need to cry out for forgiveness and grace. The “woe is me” of Isaiah 6 made total sense! A door from my spirit to my soul had been frozen shut, for many years. Experiencing His voice, as it were, pulled the door open. He did it! Repentance and confession began the “thawing out” season. I felt totally “exposed”, but in a way, it didn’t matter anymore. I knew the Lord loved me.

It was in the night prayers that I began to hear whole sentences. Once, I heard very clearly: “You are a princess.” It seemed strange to me that He should say this. But, having the reassurance of His love was so wonderful that I cried. I had never heard this kind of simple communication clearly and personally before. Mental assent to the truth of Scripture taught me, for example, that He loves us because I John 3:1 says: “Behold what manner of love the father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God.” But this “princess” word pierced my heart. I had never experienced this tender, yet direct communication before. Could this be that “personal relationship” that I used to think was exaggerated by those overly sentimental Christians who were maybe even a bit off the edge emotionally? Awe of HIM certainly brought me to the edge, and I was often in tears in those weeks. He gave me to understand more fully the phrase: “God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.”(Prov. 3:34)

The season of SHOCK and AWE is one I never want to outgrow! At almost 52 years old, I had just begun to feel alive in HIM. The LORD began to confirm His care in interesting and creative ways. One morning, before my work day, I was out walking, crossing an intersection of a 6-lane highway, intent in my morning quest for coffee. A strange man approached me. He looked like a migrant worker, a “day laborer” as they are called in California. I could tell he wanted to speak. I slowed for a moment, and he smiled broadly and said something to me in a deep Mexican accent.

Next week I will tell you what the strange man said.

“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

James 5:16

Hi Ty,

I don’t have enough words to express my gratitude. This is a very accurate, directional and encouraging “now” word.

From Sister Lynn:

I enjoyed reading your email as I can identify with it and I cannot wait until next week to read the rest. The Lord delivered a prophecy in 2007 “a new breed of street preachers are being trained and their eyes will come open, moving them out of the mega churches and into ministry. Many living room ministries will be born and the pimp games will be exposed”. In December 2011, he said “the new breed of street preachers are out of training, they are on the battlefield”. As you know, many big name pastors have been exposed during this time. I am excited for the anointing & gifts that the Lord has placed on the “new breed of street preachers” who have a reverential fear of the Lord and are committed to doing what He has called them to do, for His glory.

Have a blessed day & May God bless your ministry, greatly, as you continue to be about His business!

Walking in the Prophetic

Greetings!

Sister Ty Boye

More Christians today than ever before are now being groomed by the Holy Spirit to carry the mantel of a prophet or a prophetic minister. Looking beyond what is said out of the months of worldly men and knowing by the Spirit what they are really going to do is a must for survival.

Walking in the Spirit

Walking in the prophetic is to have 20/20 insight into what is happening in the realm of the spiritual world. Being able to see ahead of what will ultimately occur in one’s life is truly a gift from God. Knowing the thoughts of God is required in order to stay within His perfect will. All of these things will determine if you are truly walking in the prophetic. Our heavenly Father does not always lay down hard fast rules. Sometimes we find that what He wants us to do is not acceptable to the main stream of Christianity. But who are you going to please, man or God?

These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:13-16

Apostle Paul concludes that there are many Christians who are unable to discern what is from God. Many are still following after men rather than the Spirit of God. This is one of the reasons why God has begun to raise up His prophets for a time where we all need to know what is around the corner.

And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal? 1 Corinthians 3:1-4

What is a False Prophet?

Sandy Landry

Sally Landry
Author & Teacher

God spoke of false prophets in the Old Testament. They were prophets who pretended to be hearing God, but whose hearts were not His and to whom He had not spoken. They had personal agendas of being loved by the Kings because they served as “yes” men for whatever a ruler desired. They would advise the King or leaders to go to war or do this or that pretending they had heard God. Then a real prophet would be asked and he would condemn the false prophets. It hardly made the “real “prophet popular. A prophet who is required to speak what God says has to learn not to be concerned over his own popularity.

We should never condemn a New Testament prophet because a prophecy doesn’t come to pass as a “False Prophet.” Those are very harsh words and would be reserved for people like Jim Jones who led many people astray and caused great harm.

Dear Kent,

Thank you so much for the word that you sent. It was definitely on time and it seems like you were seeing things that were on the horizon as well, so it’s definitely been a word of encouragement for the season that I’m in now. I thank you for your obedience to do what God has called you to do, it’s a remarkable ministry. Also, the word for today was a onetime word for me. I’m in the middle of a storm myself. It’s been interesting because though the weather is tough around me, God has been comforting me and keeping me at peace with everything that’s going on. I know there are things that I could have done that would have been contrary to what God instructs us to do when storms come, but instead of choosing to do what I felt like doing I chose to do what would honor God. That word was really encouraging.

Thanks so much again. God bless you!

Lauren from Massachusetts

Dear Bro. Kent,

About 7 years ago you had a prophecy, a word on tape for my son that describes what his profession is now in amazing detail. Describing a civil engineer which is what he went on to be (but at the time he was only in high school). Anyway, our family appreciates your accuracy.

Mary Ann, from New Orleans, Louisiana

Dear Kent Simpson,

I received the prophecy two days ago. As my wife is presently in Korea, she has not heard it yet, but I have. It is one of the most precise prophesies I have ever received, and I am not sure my closest friends could tell me these things that you have. A deep, heartfelt Thank You for what you have done for us, and I will certainly recommend your ministry to those that come across my path.

Sincerely,

Getting Started with Hearing His Voice

Take Two by Ty

The Sunday TYM.E.S.(Meditations, Encouragement, and Sharpening in Him)

Dear Readers,

Sister Ty Boye

Greetings, and Grace and Peace to you from Our Lord Jesus! As you read this, Lord willing I am still traveling with Sandy Landry in California, taking her on a tour of my home state, visiting family, and doing research for our upcoming book.

As I begin to disclose to you some of the secrets of my heart, and the Lord’s great mercy in helping me to learn to hear His voice, my prayer is that you will meditate on the ways the Lord is speaking to you, that you will thank Him and ask Him to reveal more and more of Himself, in new ways, in ways you can understand. Do ask HIM for confirmations. He loves to confirm His word to us and is infinitely creative in doing so.

May He give us ears to hear and hearts to be eager to trust and obey. May He give us the faith for the grace to “be blessed and let God do the rest” as Kent would say. Thank God for His finished work, as we look to Jesus, “the author and finisher of our faith,” as it says in Hebrews 12:2. And I pray you will be encouraged to tell someone else how the Lord has been good to you, and how He has had compassion on you, and how you have experienced His love and friendship in your ongoing dialog with Him.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly with all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Colossians 3:16

Praise HIM,
Sister TY

Getting Started with Hearing God’s Voice

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.”
Romans 8:14

In answer to those who have asked, I plan to share with you the story of how the Holy Spirit began to train me to hear His voice for others. In fact, He’s still in the process-as He is in so many ways with all of us- so the saga continues. But I believe He will use the hearing of this story to impart to you the hunger for more of Him and the desire both to see and to seek His training in your gift. I say “to see” His training because He may already be speaking to you more than you think.

There is a great deal of scriptural sound teaching readily available to us on hearing His voice and even on learning to prophesy. Perhaps you are familiar with Kent Simpson’s website? Anyway, the story you are about to read, as it appears in weekly installments, is not to be considered a how-to manual or a doctrinal thesis. It is merely the record of how He began to reveal more of Himself to me than I had ever known or understood to be possible on an ongoing basis. The Holy Spirit will encounter each of you in His own way, and in the end, we each represent but one of the “books that should be written” John 21:25.

Much of what I would like to tell you about my past is being written up in a book which Sandy Landry and I are creating as a joint project. So you will have to wait for the book in order to read about the exciting individuals who have crossed my path in the Lord. For now, I plan just to focus on the training the Holy Spirit began in me starting in 2008.

It wasn’t a case of just “deciding” one day to start writing prophetically on behalf of others. In fact, most of my life was spent in churches which viewed contemporary prophesying as either heretical, dangerous, or “best left to the experts”. No one had these gifts anymore, and even if occasionally a glimmer of the miraculous broke through, it needed to be tested with a high degree of suspicion. Prophets were guilty until proven innocent. Even those who accepted that prophetic manifestations might occur were quick to ignore to downplay the supernatural, while insisting love was and is more important anyway. Not wanting to argue over the primacy of love, I stifled any curiosity I might have had. Who needed prophecy when the church had the Holy Scripture? I was thankful for Wycliffe and Tyndale and Luther-as we all should be, of course. But day of the great freedom fighters was past, and now we the laity had the Word at last. If true modern-day prophets did exist, it seemed the historic church had been getting by without them just fine. Or so I thought.

“Everyone knew” that, at least for the average Christian, visions and prophecy all ended when the Apostle John went on to glory in the first century. Now, if someone pressed me, I probably would have said that as an open-minded, educated person, I had to admit that MAYBE it could happen again, but visions and prophecy would only for an extremely important servant of God who had fasted for weeks and was commissioned for world evangelism. Two of my most beloved pastors had told stories about prophetic words spoken over them; I was awed over the accuracy of their confirmations. These were both men with huge ministries. At one point I had actually befriended and elderly lady who called herself a prophetess. I was not sure I could believe her stories, and 30 years had passed since our talks, so that I only dimly remembered her stories. But surely prophecy was not for the rank and file, such as myself. Our job was to stick with the Written Word.

I was a working woman who didn’t have a lot of time to read and keep up on the 21st Century Church. Like a LOT of folks in local churches across America, I thought I had enough to do, just keeping up with my family and my job and the overseas ministries I read about and supported financially. Bill Haman, Bill Johnson, John Paul Jackson, John Wimber, Bob Jones, Patricia King? Who were these folks? Never heard of them. The prophetic movement, Latter Rain, Toronto Airport? I would have said, what is this? New Age? I had not a clue, and nothing in my church experience had filled me in that anything had changed in the spiritual climate in the last hundred years. I didn’t watch much TV. No time. I was BUSY. I played my violin for worship services and was involved in a tiny prayer group in a local church. That was my ministry, and God and I had it figured out that this expenditure of time and energy was something we could both be comfortable with. Or so I reasoned, in a way that echoed the sentiments of many others who say: “This is the way I hear God, by reading the Written Word!”

Then something happened.

In January 2008, a fellow Christian, a trustworthy friend of mine, and one not given to flights of fancy, approached me and said he had seen a vision and heard an audible voice, and this message directly concerned me.

No, I won’t tell you what the vision said, or what he saw. What is important here is that I had no grid for processing this kind of event. I tried frantically to think back on those few times in over 40 years of Christian experience that I had heard Him personally. Ok, yes, there were a few, come to think of it; feeling cornered, I had to admit it. At 51 years old, there had been some voices and visions, but I had suppressed these things and never discussed them in polite Christian company.

That night, thinking about the vision, I lay awake all night, shaking. This vision had seemed true. What just happened? Was this for real? Was this safe? Was it God, or the enemy? How could I ever share this with my prayer group-or my husband? They would think I’d flipped out if I said I took it seriously. Was God trying to get through to me? Why hadn’t HE just told me Himself? OK, yes, I had been praying over this same issue lately in that little church prayer group and this vision seemed like a direct answer to those prayers. Was this vision and voice His answer? Why didn’t He just unfold the answers to my prayers in the slow, laborious process of time, through the accumulation of events, the way it seemed He most often did? Should I be shocked that He would answer me THROUGH SOMEONE ELSE in a big flashy way? Wait: was He still operating the way He had in the book of Acts after all?

I prayed all night and finally heard HIM say something in my spirit. I had not heard the Lord in this way in a really long time. Next week I will tell you what HE said.

Hello,

I just want to say it was my pleasure reading your email message. The Lord has been shaping me and getting me to be stronger in all the weak areas of my life. I have become stronger in the Lord and closer to the Lord since i became born again Christian. My brother has just gotten saved as well. He was the biggest distraction and always against me because he was so into Catholicism! But all that changed within 4 months. The Lord got to him and now he reads the WORD and his eyes are opened and i pray that the rest of my family sees the truth as well as my brother did. It all requires patience and trusting in the Lord because this is only a trial for me. I have become really strong in not giving up.

I got a prophecy from Kent about a month ago, it lifted me higher and made me feel so much better knowing i received words of encouragement from the Lord! I believe in miracles and in anything that involves the Lord with all of my heart.
